Ollie's family is hoping to be able to visit, but I'm not sure how probable it is that they'll be able. They don't just come and go from the shelter, and we are a little distance away. I talked to one of the girls on the phone today who said Ollie was pretty much her's, and wanted to see how he was doing. She got a good report.

They'll only have computer access once a week at most, so contact is limited but possible.
Ollie's adjusting well. He's laying on my lap right now, slowing my typing. lol Missie was pretty upset last night when he wanted to sit on anyone's lap or sit on the beds, but we're working on it, and she's done excellently today. Unfortunately she's gone from sharing me (he's attached himself to me, and basically doesn't leave my side) to sulking and giving me the cold shoulder (ack, my heart!) when he's around. And now HE gets upset when I give her attention! I'm doing my best to be fair, but he's just more needy than Missie. So I'll be making special efforts to spend time alone with her, and she's still the one that gets to sleep under the covers with me at night (he's crated at night).

Everything else is going great. He's very submissive, especially to my dad and brother (he's less likely to seek them out for attention, and needs coaxing to sit on dad's lap), and very attached to us girls. I went to a friend's house for 2 hours, and when I called about an hour after leaving my sister answered the phone with, "whining dog residence" lol I came home as my sister had just left, and he was whining about that too. lol I'm just thankful he's not a barker, and his whine is little.
Oh, Missie even tried to play with him (and vice versa) this morning. We gave Missie a slipper to play with, so she was throwing it around. He got all excited watching her and jumped in. She got in the play position and started barking, but her barking scares him. lol We also discovered he knows "sit" and "shake." He was sitting behind me watching Missie play, and I told her to sit so I could throw the slipper. My sister started laughing, and looking back I found Ollie had sat when I told Missie! Missie did too, of course.

He uses his paws alot, so I playfully asked him to shake and he did. He's a good little dog.

Utterly spoiled, I think, but good.
I never anticipated him being so needy, so this is difficult adjusting to his neediness and trying to take care of my baby too. Missie is very affectionate, but she's not a cuddler, so she gets the short end of the stick!
Off to take the pups on a walk.

Will post pictures soon!
