Unhappy Rant

Of all days (or rather nights) my air co. had to poop out on me. We have been in the triple digits with night lows of 80s. Last night I went to turn off my air for the few hours I can and it wouldn't shut off. I unplugged it and it sparked and a tiny flame was seen. It burn on prong and threw the breaker. WOW! I was burning up today and was told by my land lord that the maintaince guy would be around til sayurday. Well he came today and told me that some thing melted inside and he'd need to order a new part, but that I could use it still. I just have to unplug it when I want it off. Gosh I am so scared of house fires. I mean my friend just had one in his house a few weeks ago. I've had a tiny one in the past but it still freaks me out with all 12 of my pets in the house. Well wish me luck on actullay getting that part fixed. Last time this happened they ignored me for a week til I complained and finally got this great air co which now scres the beejeeziz out of me.

Sorry I had to get it out somewhere. Thanks for your time

Your lucky that your place is rented with AC. Most rentals aren't. When I visited my son in Oklahoma City one July, I couldn't stand going outside it was so hot and humid. We went over to one of his friends for BBQ and got a zillion mosquitoe bites. I'm so glad I don't live there.

A-w-w-w....I do hope they fix it soon. That heat is awful.

We're having weird weather. We got the big heat in July....90-100 degrees some of the time, a little lower sometimes. Now, in Aug, our usual hot month, it's been around 80 the past few days and dropping down at night a lot. Last night it was 34! Brrrrr. Back up to around 80 today.Totally unusual for Aug.

Hope things cool off for you soon and they fix that thing.

I'm scared of house fires too Jamila so I understand how freaked out you would be about that. What a pain the AC going out in such hot weather. I hate the heat, I'd be in such a bad mood. lol How are your furkids coping without the AC?

Cass.

The huskies hate the heat like you wouldnt believe. They are always in laying infront of a fan. It's cute though to see thier fur blowing in the breeze....lol.

Wow, what a bummer! I am scared of house fires too. We had our power go out for a few hours today and when it came back on I heard the fish tank filter sucking air. All the water drained out of it and it couldn't get a suction started. The pump motor would have burned up if we weren't home. I know it should blow a breaker before it catches on fire but what if it doesn't? I was so freaked out I unplugged it before I left the house for work today. I have two filters on the tank and the other one doesn't drain so the fish are fine but I'm too freaked out to leave the other one plugged in when I'm not home now. Small potatoes compared to your air conditioner, I know, but I'm freaked about fires like you.
