My dogs are for sale???

Well, a couple of days ago (I think Wensday), I brought May and Colby to the park, and there was a soccer game going on. Well, suddenly this little girl, who we had met there at a DIFFERENT soccer game ran up and wanted to pet them. After a little while a woman came up with her son (and actually, I know them too, lol! ) and they wanted to pet the dogs. So after a short while, the boy goes, "Mom, can WE get a dog?" and he points at Colby and goes, "I want her!" It was hilarious!!!

NOTE: My dogs will never be for sale!!!!!

LOL... I have had that a few times with my pugs. Either they insist they are for sale, or they insist that you breed. Neither will ever happen with my babies.

LOL!! I had something similar happen with Fiona. An animal rescue was having a pet adoption and Fiona wanted to go check out the other dogs. Suddenly, someone comes up to me and asks if my dog is ready to be adopted, because they really like her and want her. I politely told them that she was not part of the adoption. Just then, another person comes up and says that they want to adopt my dog. I decided to take Fiona inside, before someone tried to take her home with them. hehehe

I think this happens a lot to dog owners. People see a cute dog and something goes off in their mind--"Cute dog + good temperament + I want it = offer to buy it" LOL.

That's a funny story, coldnose Yours too, Pugdawg! Its so hilarious!

I was just thinking how bizarre your stories were, and then I realized the same thing happened to me once!

I was up in the mountains with my family, and we went to rent a video. I had Missie with me, so I took her in and just carried her around the store (I always figure they won't ask me to leave if I carry her. lol). This young girl, probably around 8 or 9 comes over and starts petting Missie, and then all the sudden goes, "can I have her?". I was totally confused, not knowing whether she meant could she HOLD her or really HAVE her. Fortunately while I stood in stunned silence her dad laughed behind her and said, "no (whatever her name was), you can't have a dog" or something like that. I think I "clinged" tighter to Missie right then... lol Like heck NO you can't have my dog! Do I look like I hate her or something?!

MY PRECIOUSSSSS.

The last time I took Bailey into PetsMart two different people asked me if Bailey was of breeding age and would I like to breed her with their male doxies. I told them no thankyou and one lady tried to give me her card in case I changed my mind. I told her Bailey was already fixed and the lady was disappointed.

Who would just walk up to someone and ask if they wanted to breed their dog? They wouldn't know if I was a good breeder and Bailey is not a good rep of the breed although she is as cute as can be. She is way too big for a mini and too small for a standard. The person's male dachshund was weird looking too. He only weighed 5-6 pounds and had really short ears and his eyes bugged out, it looked like half chihuahua to me. LOL (Not that chihuahuas are weird looking, just don't mix them with a dachshund) LOL

Haha! I had something like that happen to me before too! Actually, two incidents.

I was out walking Sarge one day, and there was this old guy standing outside washing his car. He saw me as I walked by and said "Oh, that's the dog that's for sale... I'll give you $50 for him" I was like "Um, he's not for sale. I wouldn't give him up for anything, he's my baby" and the guy didn't say anything, but there was a lady outside with him (not sure if it was his wife or daughter) and she just laughed and said "Thank You". I'm thinking to myself "FOR WHAT?" LOL

Then there was a time when my mom and I went to visit a friend. The area that he lived in wasn't the 'best' and there were a bunch of 'thugs' around there. So we had brought Denali Sheiba and Sarge up with us, and were outside with them. This one guy walks up and he's like "Wow those are pretty dogs, are you gunna breed them?" We're like "No, they're both female" He's like "Oh okay, wow I want one, you should breed um, and if you do I want a puppy" My mom just replied nicely "Okay" just to please the guy. As he walked away my mom said "I wouldn't give him a puppy anyway, they'd only want it cause it's pretty." Not only that, in their area, they've had fighting pits. Not good.. They arent' the best people anyways.

Barret - How rude! LOL That's strange too, you can tell they must be a BYB without doing any references on whether or not you have good records or anything... I would think that it's kinda rude to just walk up to someone and say "Hey do you wanna breed your dog with me?" As if it were some "get together" LOLOL

That's hilarious! Luckily no one has asked me yet if I want to breed one of my girls, which of course I would never do and, of course, I can't because they're all spayed!

Yes, I agree. Don't mix Chis with Doxies!

LOL!! I would love to be able to bring my dogs into stores

Little kids are so funny, aren't they? I mean, they just assume things. And really strange things. I mean, did she really think you'd just hand over your dog like, "Oh yeah, sure, you can have my dog! Call me Missie!"

Oooo.....gollum, gollum!

Geesh! Sure, Sibes are just GORGEOUS dogs, but don't they need a lot of exercise? And besides, no responsible owner (which obviously you are) would just give someone a puppy or sell their priceless pup for $50 bucks!

Oh Gaddy, I didn't mean YOUR stories specifically, I meant everyone who'd posted!

Being able to carry the dog is a benefit of owning a small dog! I've never been kicked out of a store (yet. lol). And I don't know what that little girl was thinking I'd do... lol
