I think 2 of Carrie's suggestions are my favorite so far: Jewel's Novel Cadence or Jewel's Novel Allegro.

Leslie + Chessies... you rock at this name thing. The two under par thing is very clever... I'm going to run some of these past the breeder. I really like "dirty little secret" but I don't know if she'll appreciate that so much!!

Thanks Calgal for the suggestions, and yes Cass, I'm pretty partial to that name too... It has a good sound to it!

I'll get pictures as soon as I can, and I'll make a real life visit in about two weeks and bring back pictures. Sidda knows me pretty well so I can visit her sooner than I could Haley with Spirit's litter, but, this is Sidda's first litter, so we want to make sure she's real comfortable before people start visiting.

Whomever this girl happens to be, she will be the 6th dog here in our home. Doesn't that sound like Heaven?? I can't believe how big Spirit has gotten, and Jazz too, but they're still puppies and will be for at least a year yet, but my my, where does the time go?

We keep a notebook of names that we always take to the shows, and keep adding to it as we drive, or when a thought strikes us. Obviously, we never put a kennel name on there, but we always have the "personalized ones". So far, we have 2 pages of 8 1/2 x 11 sheets full of names.

Maybe that is something that you could start?

As for a name....how about...... Jewel's Soaring Flight to Novel ? Your call name could be Lindy...or (Valentina...first woman in space)

Where does the time go? I wish I knew. It seems like only yesterday we saw Spirit or was it Jazz (?) in Columbia as a little bitty thing. We feel the same way about Phantom, and the other day we realized that he is starting to lose his puppy look

Good luck with the puppy!! We get our new one next week!! YEAAAAAA!!!

I'm sure whichever little girl you end up with, she will be gorgeous! We can't wait to see pictures!! We still can't talk you into coming to the show in Des Moines on 9/9 - 9/11, can we? We're even having a bbq/potluck dinner at our house on the evening of the 10th, and would love to have you there, too!

We do an annual dinner for all our Corgi friends, and invite our other "breed" friends, too...lots of fun!!

I'll have to think on the name thing...I usually have my inspirations in the middle of the night, or on a long road trip (as Rus said above...LOL)

Rus, great idea... I may have to do just that...

I know what I want to name my first home bred dog... Novel's In the Beginning and then the callname Adam or Eve, depending, but this trying to fit in other kennel names is difficult. LOL!

Sherilyn, I could probably have been persuaded, but this puppy will be ready the last week in September and I am going to have to put in mega hours of work time in order to afford her and the hunt test/retriever rating I also want to go to in Sept. As it is I have only one show planned for August, and none in Sept. It's killing me!

Crazy-paws, excellent name suggestions. I like soaring flight to Novel... thanks, adding that to the list.

I totally understand, Julie! We pick up our little Spirit next Wednesday, so we've got 5 shows lined up for the next few weeks, then we're done for about a month...have to stay home and save up some more money so we can go to more shows. And here I thought golf was an expensive hobby!! LOL Dog shows are TOO darn addictive!

Put the Des Moines show on your list for sometime next year, and we'll invite you to whatever we have going on that weekend for dinner. At the January show, we usually put on a chili supper, and the fall show is the bbq/potluck dinner. You're invited any time!

LOL.. Well, "In the beginning" are the first three words in the Bible...

LOL.. I was just thinking "Chapter 2" and then name the dog Simon, after the playwright... lol.
Names are so much fun! I know of a kennel that names and registers all the dogs before they leave with their new owner. Oh, I would love to do that, but, that's no fun for the new owner. I've seen some people give lists to choose from, or require certain words or themes and others that leave it totally up to the new owner. It's always an adventure no matter what!
I will look forward to the next Des Moines show, don't worry. I'm looking for a job change, but that will be a while before anything happens so next year hopefully, we'll see each other more!
