I know what you mean about hanging out with family... That seems to be one of the most 'uncool' things to a lot of people my age but I love being with my family.. It's pretty rare that we ALL get together (My uncles and aunt live in California, as do my cousins, my brothers live in Idaho.) but still, a few of us, our friends, and a couple of squirmy ferrets and it's pretty fun.  |

Animallover0200 - I'll be in Chicago for the first time come April! I'll have to look you up so you can show me and my friends how to party Chicago-style!! LOL
(I know this is off subject but oh well LOL!!) Icey - I know what you mean about spending time with family. I always hated it growing up and now that I'm an adult there's nowhere I'd rather be than sitting around the dinner table with my family. I cherish those times together now. I wish I did before. You're a really smart young lady to know what's important in life and what's not! |

I always here kids talk about how their moms a... and they hate their dad, and all this.  My aunt uncle, 2 cousins and my grandma live about 2 neighborhoods away. So somtimes we'll go out with them (rarely though, like you said) and when my aunt and uncle come down from NC, we all go out to eat... our family is crazy. |

Me and my parents fight like crazy, but it never really lasts.. Usually if we're in a fight I'll go and stay with a friend for a few days, or they'll take a road trip. Then when we're all in the same house again, everything's fine and dandy.
Your boyfriend's family sounds a lot like my boyfriend's family. I never like to go over there because they're always bickering and swearing at each other at the top of their lungs. Every time I go over there and there is a fight (which is every time I go over there, basically) he just keeps saying "two more years and I'm free.." I am so glad that's not the way my family is, but I feel bad that his younger sibs can't do anything about it. Spike can leave and stay at a friend's house, but the ones that are too young just have to stay there and listen to all of that. |

They have a dog also... their dog is, well he's loved, but I just think he could be taken care of better... not walked correctly, (they stand at the back door with a retractable leash and let him do business then come in), never exercised, fed Science Diet Light, which isn't doing a thing for him, and Steven and I try ot tell them, you have to add EXERCISE to his diet for the food to even think about working (a bit over weight), sometimes they don't even walk him at night, so he goes potty in the kitchen where he sleeps... he's walked maybe 2 times a day... hardly played with, if he gets riled up they yell at him... he's EXTREMELY dog aggressive (except with mine for some reason) starting to become people aggressive, not trained, doesn't listen well. He loves me to death and his sister gets jealous when he's aroud me more than her, or leaves her room to come see me (supposed to be his sisters dog). I have trained just about everything he knows.. except maybe for sit, but he never knew it well. He's a Bahamian Pot Cake. Was abused with his litter of pups when he was younger. A woman saved them... he has a broken ear, but he's so hyper. I just wish they weren't so hard headed, and a little more dog smart. I think he is going to end up becoming very dominant, because I've already tried telling them, and they took it all the wrong way and was thinking we were trying to say they were bad dog owners. Sorry for rambling! LOL |

Yeah, I know a few people who could stand to take better care of their dogs... I guess I can't blame them completely, they love the dogs, they just don't know very much about dog ownership.
Spike doesn't have any dogs at the moment. He wants to adopt one from the animal shelter when he comes down here for Christmas break. He's pretty dog-savvy, what I remember most is that he was the only person who was ever able to completely gain Shiner's trust. (She was so protective of me.. I swear she was like a big brother, she wouldn't let guys come within 3 feet of me) So I think he'll be a good dog owner, as long as his wicked (  ) mom doesn't interfere.It is sad when people don't take very good care of their dogs. It's not that hard, it just takes a little teeny bit of effort and compassion. I can even understand if people can only afford to feed their dog purina, but I can't understand why they can't play with their dog, or take them outside more often (or in the case of the people I know, let them in more often) |
