Schools started back up...

Joy joy, right?

I hate the classes that I'm taking this year, and it just didn't start off right for me. Besides that, I don't like the class I'm taking this year. lol
Let's see...here is my schedule or what I can remember of it:
1st: Study Hall
2nd: Chemestry *gag*
3rd: Geography?
4th: English (with the Teacher I HATE!)?
5th: World Business? or something like that...again with the hated Teacher
6th: Bible
7th: Study Hall
8th: Algebra II

My mom was trying to convince me to take Trig this year too, but there is no way. It's a bad sign when you are ready for school to be over and it is only the 2nd day. I like seeing all of my friends again, but this school year just feels wrong. I'm a sophmore, but I'm taking Junior and Senior classes. Fun fun, right? Ah, oh well.

But before the first day of school, the Jr. High and Highschool go on a retreat (advantage of having a super de duper small school) and it was fun, not to mention funny. lol We watched a video of it today in class and about thirty min of the film is Carla (a Jr.) getting up the nerve to jump onto the Blob (an inflated thing in the water that you jump on, and then someone else jumps on and launches you into the air). She finally jumped on and then Robert (a Sr.) was going to launch her and right before he jumped he was like, "Good bye Carla" and then she went flying into the air (about 13ft maybe?) and was screaming bloody murder. You kinda had to be there, but it was halarious.

And then Clint (a Jr.) kept trying to jump on, but he kept falling off. lol He was getting so frusterated!

Anyways, how is the first couple of school days going for all of you who are still in school?

OMG, school's back aready there?? Canada must be different, school doesn't go back here till like September 5th!! And it get's out the end of June. I can't wait for the kids to go back here, the neighbourhood has been pretty darn noisey!!! LOL

Don't hate school too much!! I tell ya, what I wouldn't give to be back there now. I hated it when I was there, but I sure do miss it now.

Oooh, your classes don't sound like fun! I don't envy you, but I know you'll make it.

College classes don't start for another week and a half. Summer's finally slowed down for me (except for taking the dogs in and out, in and out. LOL), so I'm halfway ready to start classes. The other half of me remembers last semester. lol I'm taking 3 classes I have a definite interest in (all child development) and one class I may have an interest in (exercise science and kinesics), so I am excited to see how much I like each class and what I'll be learning.

The best part is I'm doing them all online, so study breaks mean spending time with the dogs and rats.

Blah, school has started back up for me. This was my first day... can't say I like ALL of my classes, but they're okay.

1st hour: American Gov't
2nd hour: HOE Research (like a student helper for me med teacher)
3rd hour: Diversified Carreer Technologies (for OJT)
4th hour: English IV
5th hour: Physics
6th hour: World History
7th hour: OJT - On the Job Training. I get to go to work and it counts as class credits.

So far my favorites are my OJT and Researchers class. The others are okay. I usually have pretty nice/decent teachers, but most all of mine are really strict this year. My two fave classes are really nice teachers, and physics is decent. The rest are BLAH.

I think its great you are taking higher level classes....I was always a "basic" person. Hated school, hated the people there.....yeah, I was "that kid" ! Total introvert. Although you wouldn't know that now!

Kids here will be going back next week.....none of them are thrilled either.

Geeze...My school doesn't start up untill the 29th. I am dreading it. I had a CRAP-LOAD of homeowork to do over the summer so...it shouldn't feel like I even left right?? I couldn't believe how much they gave us. We are the only school in the county doing it. It SUCKS!!!

This is what I am taking...don't know the period, but will on the 29th!!

Fun stuff! At least this year I have some "fun" classes so hopefully it won't be TOO hard.

That would be me too! People just make me soo mad, I hate them (I know that sounds horrible, but I would rather be with the horses and dogs that with the kids at school). I figure I would rather only talk to my few friends, then be stuck talking to people that annoy the crap out of me. My one friend talks to everyone, and I don't know how she does it. The kids in school are just so...not sure how to finish that sentence.

ETA: Once I am out of school, I don't hate people as much. LOL It is just the kids at school that I can't 'tolerate.' (well, most of them)

Trig is a lot more fun than Algebra. It just sound scary. Former math major, here. Trust me.

BTW, my degree is in Sociology - my motto, "write a paper, be done with it."

Flyn has it right Trig is fun, but I was also a Math major (I took 6 years worth of Math in HS, only to come to college and do so much more...) Physics is also fun if you have a good teacher, there is just so many cool things you can do to explain/demonstrate the concepts.

lol I'm just glad I don't have school tomorrow. At least that is good!

I go to a super tiny private school, so our math teacher teaches Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra II, Physics, and on rotating years, Geometry. She would teach Trig, but she teaches at a college in the mornings.
But me and my friend Cody are in the back of her room while she teaches Algebra, and Mrs. Heyer said, "Remember, Algebra is FUN!" and she gave a little cheesy smile (you kinda have to know her to understand her, but she was meaning it as a joke/truth) and Cody yelled, "It's a trap! Don't fall for it! She'll lure you in with Honey and then WHAM!" so we all started laughing....that is the part of school that I do like, but the lectures and the dreaded English reports...no thanks.
I like Mrs. Heyer and my classes with her, but I am NOT going to like English this year...it has never been my best subject (I got an A in it, but for me, it was a hard to get A) and that along with the teacher from hell is so not going to be fun. But hey, I might as well grin and bear it.

Ugh... I start on the 18th and it's coming faster than Finn after a sausage. And that's fast. I'm (more or less) looking forward to all my subjects... except English. Count yourself lucky -I have to learn how to speak it. I have to know what I am writing at this very moment, how to pronounce my own language, and translate into Spanish. These last years I've got of lightly and they let me do what I wanted, except the exams, but I don't know about this year. Agh... d-o-g means woofwoof... at least we're past that. Pity me, ye lucky people who do not have to learn to read.

Oh man, if you have to learn English, I feel so sorry for you. English is evil, and I speak the language! There are so many rules, but then those rules don't always count, and then the "proper" way to speak that we learn in school isn't what we speak on the streets!
I would much rather learn how to speak some foreign language. I know some Spanish, but I'd like to learn German. I started to do a self study, but I didn't get very far. I can badly pronounce the numbers up to 10, and I know what car is! lol And my mom knows a few words, so I know thankyou and please, and sit down. lol Oh, and hurry up.
That's the bad thing about a tiny private school...they only offer Spanish.

I know a little bit of spanish. Two years of a foreign language (spanish, french or sign language) is required at our school. Although, sign language is a risky one to take. Not many Universities take it, and most out of our state don't.

I agree. English would be a very hard subject. I think it's actually a proven fact that English is one the hardest languages to learn, because we have so much slang and different ways of talking.

I've always wanted to learn German too. I know a couple words like "Setz" "Nein" "Platz" "Fuss". Notice they would all have to do with dog training. LOLOL! But I've always found it to be a really neat language, and very bold. And seeing that I'm part German, it would be neat to learn it. I also like the band Rammstein. German band...

Wow, I've gone way off track. LOL

AMEN! Those were the days when the only thing "due" was homework. Missing a homework due date is not as severe as missing a tax or mortgage due date.

I start school in early September, not sure what day yet, but I'm homeschooled cause my parents don't like the schools around here. I actually do school online. I am going to be a sophmore in high school this year! I am pretty excited about my classes this year though! They are...
English: English 10
Math: Geometry
History: Global Studies
Science: Forensics
Elective: Art and Music
Elective: Crime and Justice
I am usually not excited about school, but I am really excited about my classes this year, especially Forensics, I can't wait! : )
