Have any of you seen....

...a liver colored Boston Terrier? We went to the dog park day with the girls and Bub, and saw the cutest little Boston Terrier. He was a liver color, very playful... he liked Sheiba Fiesty little thing, and just loved to run! My mom fell in love with them! LOL His name was Bruiser...

she had a black and white BT named Buddy.. she said he was at a local petshop and was 41/2 months old, and couldn't stand that he was living there when she has heard bad things about the place(she basically wanted to rescue him, didn't want him there) so she said he "rides the short bus to school". She said his teeth are very crooked and he just doesn't seem 'normal' (what a nice mommy! LOL). But the other one is in good condition, very pretty. She also had an English Bull Dog. She said she had gotten him for $2000 and a couple days she brought him home and he got cherry eye, so they went through with the $500 procedure, and then after it was gone, the other eye got it. She acted annoyed... she seemed very snobby... My mom didn't like her too much, but she loved her doggies.

We also saw two great dane puppies. The couple show them... the male was 98 pounds and he's only 5 months old LOL He was huge!! But such a sweetie! The girl was huge too, we didn't find out her weight, But I'd say she was about 80 pounds... They were extremely pretty...

LOL I got way off topic, but.. just curious if anyone had seen one!

probably a boston mixed with something else to get that color, maybe a pug or something... once more... there goes another "breeder" messing up standards again...
at least the cutie got a good and loving home though and he's not sitting in someone's back yard wondering why he's all alone...

Yeah, he looked exactly like a BT though, just his coat color was different...

Well I just looked up their variations in coat colors and they said they can be a brindle color (which was what it was, guess I should have remmebered that LOL) but his 'color' was just so pretty..

I agree, atleast he has a good home!

Do you maybe mean it was a seal color...because that is acceptable.

Here is what it says in the AKC's breed standard about the colors...
Color and Markings
Brindle, seal, or black with white markings. Brindle is preferred ONLY if all other qualities are equal. (Note: SEAL DEFINED. Seal appears black except it has a red cast when viewed in the sun or bright light.) Disqualify: Solid black, solid brindle or solid seal without required white markings. Gray or liver colors.
Note that liver is a disqualification...and I have personally never seen a liver Boston. More than likely it was a poorly bred dog...I'm curious, how did the dogs eyes look? were they showing a lot of white? That's another sign of a poorly bred Boston.

...and here is a picture of a seal colored Boston.

I didn't really notice any white in the eyes. It may have been a seal colored Boston.

Looking at the brindle, I don't think it was brindle now that I think about it. Do you have a clearer picture of a Seal colored boston? It's hard to tell since that is a drawing!

I've been trying to find one...it must be an uncommon color, I haven't found one yet. I'll keep looking though.

Ok, here is a fairly decent picture of a seal Boston...

That's his color!!

Thanks for looking for a picture! I guess I have my correction then! A SEAL colored boston! Hehe... he looked quite a bit like that dog in the picture, but didn't have the coloring on the front of his lips.

Never seen a Seal, but I've seen quite a few brindles. LOL, I thought they were mixed at first

Hey, no problem.
For some reason the ones I could find like that were calling them "reds". There were some more pictures that had variations that went all the way to a gold color, which were very pretty, but obviously a huge disqaulification in the show ring.

Brindles in Bostons can vary from what is called a black brindle to a regular brindle that has a brown base with the black striping. If you'll look at the pictures of my dogs in my signature and the photo gallery here you should be able to see a difference. My female is a black brindle and my male is a regular brindle.
