Her dog just recentally had puppies (Aussie/Collie mixes) and she is going to sell them for 100$ if she doesn't know who's buying them, 50$ for friends. The puppies are adorable and seem healthy, although they haven't had their shots or anything like that.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has an article I can give her that can help her place the puppies with responsible homes rather than just selling them to whoever has the money? And also one about spaying/neutering their bitch and boy, and maybe about a spay/neuter contract for the pups? Luckly they are going to keep the pups if they can't find homes (I quote, "We brought them into this world so we aren't just going to put them to sleep!") so there is still hope yet.
She's tried to talk me in to one and I'd take it if my parents would let me, but with Sadie here, it is a no go. If she was already gone and we knew she wasn't coming back, that would be one thing, but we don't know. And then I'd only take one if I could get it for free and after I'd told her about irresponsible breeding and all of that fun stuff...but it ain't gonna happen, so I can just stop thinking about it. (Although once Sadie is gone and isn't coming back, I despretally want a dog that I can do obedience and agility with...but we'll cross that bridge when we get there.)
In English class we have to write an anylitical(sp...) essay and we can pick any topic, so I'm doing pet over-population. And she's in my english class, so we'll see if anything hits home. (Although how I'm going to fit all that I want to say onto 1 1/2 pages is beyond me! I never thought I'd say this, but twelve font single space here I come! LOL
