What do you do?

I was just curious as to the types of jobs that everyone has?

I am mostly a housewife...although I go and help my husband at his work at least two or three days a week. He paints cars at a paint and body shop. I help get the cars ready to paint by doing a little sanding and a lot of scrubbing! You see, to be able to paint the part of the car that needs to be painted, it has to have all of the shine taken off. Which includes all the nooks and crannies.

I know there are quite a few students on here also...so feel free to tell everyone what you are planning on doing when you get out of school.

I'm a student right now, but I'm working toward my dream of being a screenplay writer. I'm pretty realistic about the whole thing - there are plenty of people out there that want to write screenplays and very few ever sell their work - so while I'm writing and fervently hoping that someone options one of my scripts I also plan to:

Write for a dog magazine.

Write books - I'd love to write children's books (I'm inspired by the works of Chris van Allsburg, CS Lewis, JK Rowling, Tolkien, etc), but I'd also like to do photo essays on dog breeds, and a coffee table book on amezaiku (the art of Japanese lollipops - they are beautiful)

Run a dog daycare - my twin sister and I plan to own one. It will allow me to have some sort of steady income while I write, but I'll also have time for my dogs, and it'll give her a way of paying back all of those student loans after veterinary school. I'd like to offer pet photography here as well.

I'm still a student as well! I don't have a job quite yet... my mom wants me to concentrate on my school, but I am thinking about volunteering at my local shelter. Or maybe PetSupermarket for a couple days outta the week.

I hope to either become a RN (Registered Nurse), which I'm taking the Acadamy classes for the medical program we hold at our school, or a Professional Dog Trainer/Behavorist.

If I'm ever able to raise enough money, I want to hold my own shelter... basically take in dogs that are the next to be put down in shelters, and of course, any other helpless animal needing a 2nd chance at life. *sigh* It's all a dream right now, but hoping to make it come true....

I'm a bartender at a Pittsburgh Area Bar on Fridays and Saturdays (the money shifts)
I'm a full time student of Business.
But I do not intend to use that degree; I'm going to law school once I get my B's degree.
I would have liked to do family law, unfortunately there's no money but tons of heartbreak involved.
I'm considering either doing either real estate law or corportate law (thus the business degree).
Its amazing how many different specializations of law there are, truly amazing!

I work for an airline as a ramp supervisor for my full time job. I marshall in the planes, unload the bags, drive them all over the airport so they can make their connections with the passengers. Then I come back and load new bags back on the plane and marshall it back out, and wait for the next one to come in. I also work part time as a flight instructor. I teach student pilots how to fly and I teach ground school on weather 3 days a week. This is my favorite job in the world and I am building my hours so I can get hired by an airline and fly the big planes. The best part about this job is my boss allows me to take Bailey with me when I fly. As long as the weather is calm and I don't plan on teaching any stalls, steep turns or spins Bailey goes in the back seat as my little co-pilot. If I think it will be bumpy or I am teaching maneuvers the other students and instructors will watch Bailey for me. I hate to leave her at home and thank goodness everyone loves having her follow them around the airport all day. She is a good little pilot dog!

Your not the only oldie here Jean I'm 39 pushing 40 . I spent 12 years in the British Army as a Royal Marine Commando. I then went on to dog handling and spent a few years training dogs for the Army and Police force. I now live in Germany and run Adventure training courses (Rock climbing, Absailing, canoeing etc ) for allegedly over stressed heads of industries !!!
