Question?

What happens to the puppies that never sell at a pet store?

Excellent question!
I don't know for sure, but I could take a few guesses, which make me shudder to think about.
A lot of these pet stores cram so many puppies in there and price them so highly and outrageously, that I can only imagine how many don't sell. Perhaps they lower the prices after so long, and try to bait people into buying them or feeling sorry for them.
Other things that I think that just appaul me, which may or may not actually occur.
Depending on what really happens to them, I don't know if I want to hear the truth or not.

By the way, welcome to GP!! Do you have a dog/s? Please introduce yourself and tell us about your furkids if you have any.

Well, I remember at one point I saw a golden retriever/poodle cross in a pet store. He was about 9 months old and simply just huge.

He had a sign on his cage that said, "Clarence is on clearance!" He was priced at $199.99, which made it an $800 markdown.

Im pretty sure most of them do.
By now most everyone knows I got my beloved Kino at a pet store. (I knew the hazzards and was willing to take the chance anyway). He was marked down sooo much That I doubt there was any profit on him. He was origonally $500.
They had to provide medical care and shots until I took him which probably cost a bit. Im assuming on discount based on how many puppies they have, but still a bit.
I payed $50 for Kino. I got a free bag of food and colar because they were sooo happy to be selling him. He was marked down to $100 but they said I cant take him till tomarrow cuz he was going in for his rabies shot. I offered them $50 and to get the rabies shot myself, they said ok.

I think some rescues try and get involved, other then that I dont really know what happens to them.

Why not ask the stores? I know you may not get a straight answer from them, but it's always worth a shot.
