How often do you bathe your dog(s)?

I bathe my girls every month, to keep them clean, and sometimes they'll go to the groomer's, but only for special occasions (I don't think anybody really wants to spend $135 dollars every month to have three dogs professionally groomed, unless it is a show dog or the owner is very wealthy, when you can do it yourself and you pay less for the use of water and a bottle of coconut shampoo).

What about you?

I usually use a waterless shampoo, a microfibre cloth, and/or an alchohol-free baby wipe to clean my dogs's coats. About once a month, I give them a bath.

The bully crew have their bath once a month unless there is an upcoming show then their REALLY scrubbed down the night before the show, whiskers clipped and all that good stuff.

Inbetween bath times - I use non-alcohol baby wipes with aloe daily to clean out wrinkles, ears and folds, everyone gets the old vaseline slickdown to the nose every other day, teeth brushed weekly and a quick brush down once a day.

the only time bowie gets a bath is after he gets REALLY dirty - this is normally 3-4 times a year.

Dutches get it once a month by a groomer but I will in the summer. It is just to cold in the winter. She runs in the sprinklers during the summer so she stays pretty clean but if her white coat gets dirty lookin off we go to the groomers.

Mine get baths when they stop smelling good. For Buster, that's 3x/month, Ripley and Dakota usually once a month. Sometimes I bathe them before we go somewhere so they look all nice and fluffy.

The girls are bathed only when needed (extremely dirty, got into something stinky, or just need a perk up to look pretty ) But it is not very often... they don't tend to stink alot... so a wipe down with a cloth is usually what we do for them.

I'd say Sarge is once a month. He has a shorter coat and when you pet him, the dirt can show up on your hands! Whenever that happens, he gets a bath, and when gets that stinky doggy odor, BATH TIME!

Sarge hates baths... he listens and will come, but always hangs his head... if he sees me grab a towel, with a bottle in my hand, he runs to my dad or brothers room!

I tend to only wash my dogs when they are disgustingly dirty, like they've rolled in fox poop or something. If they're just a bit muddy I tend to dry them off with a couple of dog towels that I have (just old towels that we now use for the dogs). So most of the time it will be 3 or 4 times year. One of them though (Maxwell) is a swine and rolls in the poop a lot! So she gets bathed a lot!

LOL, LOL!!! I can relate to that one! Only for me, it's bear poop or some unidentifiable mess. I try not to bathe them more than is necessary, but my Dobe and my boy Chi get smellier than my girls do.

The other day Jose walked right under Lyric who was lifting his leg on a tree. Jose got it. I forgot to bathe him and 2 days later I noticed he didn't smell too good, so he got a bath.

I hate bathing Lyric. He's so heavy and won't volunteer to get in the tub. So in the interim I'll wipe him down with Listerine mixed with water. That freshens him up. Yup...brushing works for just plain dirt, dust and hair etc.

The Chi's are easy to bathe. The girl is only 5lbs and I can stick her right in the kitchen sink and it takes all of 3 minutes. LOL.

Man, I bet that's nice! Probably a H*ll of a lot easier on your back too than leaning over the tub with it digging into your rib cage! :shiver:

At any rate, I give my Boxer (who is a pretty clean girl-not a roller so far...knock on wood and thank god!) a bath exactly once a month because she gets her flea treatment and I kinda dont want to keep piling that stuff on her, I just feel better putting it on a clean dog.
