Oh No!
Hubby so mad at dogs! SO MAD!
We are building a pole shed...and he just went to Menards and bought this sheets of board type insulation....Well...we went for a ride to McDonalds and while we were gone, the puppies decided those would be great fun to play with. $10 dollars a sheet they cost and they ruined about 4 of them. So I quick got my dogs in their crates...so hubby stop yelling at my puppies! I tell him over and over that dogs do not understand being scolded 'after the fact'. So I remove them away from him! He is calmed down now. ![]() |

When I got home from work tonight, my boyfriend was asleep on the sofa, and he didn't put the dogs in their room. It cost him alot of chewed wires, on his beloved Home Theatre. Boy was he mad So my guys where laying low too. Lucky for them, he works the night shift. As soon as he left we had some play time. ![]() |

Oi !!! This is not "a man thing" . I have never scolded my dogs after the act, and fully understand that a dog is incapable of drawing a link between earlier actions and a later incorporated punishment for the offence.
However, I do admit that men may not always be as neat and tidy as women, and therefore the chances of things laying around may be increased. Which could in turn lead to a greater chance of a dog chewing them and consequently enhance the prospects of it becoming chastised. Try to educate your husbands / boyfriends on dog behavior and mental capabilities. ![]() You have to look at things from a mans point of view. Waking up to a dog that has just eaten your home cinema (the great provider of football) is tantamount to being kicked between the legs. It requires the patience of a saint not to retaliate. ![]() |

My husband tries really hard when he is on puppy duty. He used to put our baby dachshund on a leash when she was in the house so he could catch her quickly if she squatted on the carpet and run her to her potty place when she was being potty trained. He was so funny and usually made things harder than they needed to be. He would make these elaborate barriers to contain her in the the living room so he could stop her from chewing on things instead of simply picking up everything she could get her mouth on and puppy proofing the room. I would come home and all the furniture would be moved around to build a play area for her even though I bought a nice big puppy play pen. He said it looked too much like a cage and she was happier in the middle of the furinture fort. I even completely cleaned out a spare bedroom, filled it with tons of toys and put up a baby gate so we could play with her in there but would still come home to the furniture fort because there was no television in the "puppy room" for him to watch. LOL I have to love him for trying so hard to watch her even though the ball game was on t.v.
As for cleaning the house, I bought a new vacuum cleaner last YEAR and a few days ago I called and asked him to vacuum the floor before I came home from work so we could have company over. Two hours later he called back sheepishly asking how to turn on the vacuum cleaner! LOL I gotta love him! Barrett |
