WE actually went out and bought another couch for the humans to use, since the dogs are such hogs. How bad is that..lol

We do, for a while it was Jill, Shelby, and Myself in a twin bed and that took some work to get everyone to fit. Now Shelby just knows she sleeps under our pillows at the top of the bed and MacKenzie is still finding her place

Mine are all allowed on the couches, no invite needed. They too, get off if I ask. Lyric even knows "turn around" when I want him to move over to the other end and get out of my favorite corner. The bed is another story. Its too tall for the little dogs to get on by themselves although they can jump down by themselves and Lyric is only allowed if I invite him because usually I don't like to sleep with him....he's a bed hog, makes me over heat and I can't sleep well.

Ours have claimed the couch, although they love it when there are humans on the couch to cuddle with as well. They each have their own spot on the couch...Duchess on the left corner, Ruby on the right corner, and Phantom stretched out in the middle where he can touch both girls.

The bed is more entertaining. Phantom will jump up on the bed while Sherilyn is getting ready for bed, and he lays on her pillow and stretches as far as he can go, usually on his back. Then, he watches out of the corner of his eye to see when she's about done in the bathroom, so he can fake being asleep....he'll even SNORE to make it sound believeable!! LOL Then she has to physically move him out of the way so she can get into bed. Ruby usually is at my feet on the edge of the bed and Duchess is tucked under my arm, either between Sherilyn and I or on the outside. IF we let them sleep on the bed, they usually kick us to the edges and they claim the middle 75%....and we have a California King waterbed!!!! LOL

Oh yeah...our dogs love the sofa and love seat! We actually bought new leather furniture so it would be easier to keep clean.

Of course, they do have to remove their fuzzybutts from the furniture if the humans want to sit on them

Checkers gets up whenever she likes and usually sleeps on a loveseat. But during the winter she just lays down infront of the fireplace instead of the couches. We have one chair she isn't allowed in no matter what. Lindy's still having a hard time figuring out how to get in and out of couches and chairs. She's learned "up" fairly quick, but I think I'm going to keep it invite-only with her.

My couches and bed are owned by the cat, so the dogs aren't allowed. They have a blanket near the couches and their own beds for night.

The couch, bed, floor, etc are all open to dogs. So is the bed and even the bathtub. (Laney has this thing about getting in the bath tub while it's already occupied. She's crazy, I know it.)

The only thing I ask is that they keep their paws and noses off the counters and tables. Sounds fair to me.

The couches are heavily used, as are the recliners. Everyone has their own space. Topper and Laney both grab a recliner of their own. Everyone else piles on the couch, which we are always amazed holds up so well. It's a nice black leather couch and it barely shows any wear, plus it's super easy to clean up after 20 dirty feet have been on it all day!

Most of the time it's just him and I anyways, it's s big couch so plenty of room fo the 2 of us. He's not allowed up if I'm eating and he needs to have some kind of couch manners no toys, bones\food balls ect alowed. If he wants to sleep he just jumps on my bed or sleeps in his multilayed foamy padded more comfortable than my bed crate bed.

They're both allowed on my bed, but Bailey by invitation only. Neither is allowed on the furniture upstairs, but on all of it downstairs. Works for us. They've never been allowed on upstaris furniture and haven't ever tried to go on it either. Hmm, where did all that training come from? *grin*

I also share my TWIN bed with two ESS and a fat cat occasionally... there's a pic somewhere of how that sleeping arrangement works. Usually though it's just Buzz as Bailey really prefers her crate to my bed, especially when it's crowded!

Sadie is allowed to sleep on the bed at night, Liebe has her own "queen corner" w/ 4 of her favorite blankets and her own full size futon mattress. Liebe is allowed on the bed when room allows, like Sunday morning-paper and coffee time.

Liebe is allowed on the couch (its a huge sectional and she has "her" area) and Sadie can only be on the couch w/ permission.

We figure it evens out in fairness. Liebe is very heartbroken her big ol' butt cant come on the bed every night, but then she loves pointing out to Sadie that she gets the big fluffy couch....LOL

As soon as I figure out how to connect to California King mattresses together in a comfortable way, I will have both my babies in bed w/ me

Sadly I don't allow mine on the couch or bed anymore...and I miss having them suggle with me! I have wiener dogs and since getting Harley with a back injury, I'm too scared any of them might get hurt from jumping off. I tried ramps and little sets of stairs but when they get excited they just leap off anyway. Lucy leaps straight up and out so it's even worse when she lands. She will leap over the rug and land on the hard wood floors and all legs will sprawl out. Since Lucy has luxating shoulders and elbows, Harley has the back injury and bad hips....I'm keeping Bailey safe! No more couch or bed but you should see all the extra soft baby blankies and luxuriously plump pillows they have to curl up with....in every room of the house. We even bought big beanbag chairs just to snuggle with the pups on while watching tv. I miss having them be my personal foot warmer at night but I secretly don't miss having dog hair on my bed. Ssshhhhh...Don't tell the pups...they think I'm just as upset about the no furniture policy as they are.

Nope, we tried that little experiment early on. He's too big and too much of an oaf. He got behind my wife on the couch and pushed her off so that was the end of that. LOL

^^^LOL!!!!!

Anyways, yes - Gizmo is allowed up on the couch and the bed. More often than not I wake up to him sleeping beside me on the couch with his head on a pillow. Yup, life is rough for that little dog of mine!

Gizmo as well! He adores water, lol. My father stil affectionatly refers to him as a "Shlab" from his escapade with the pool back in March.
