The bullies have one, only one bit of furniture that their allowed to be on. We have an old love seat that probably should have been thrown out years ago LOL but, it sits in our family room for the dogs, it's their little couch and they lounge all over it.

I love having them on the furniture with me. I'm trying to convince the fam to buy a new couch since I think our's is a source of allergens bothering Missie. As it is now Ollie is hogging my computer chair, curled up next to me. Missie's on the couch.

Ollie sleeps in a crate at night, but he's allowed on my bed during the day. Missie, Ollie and I actually took a nap on my bed today. It's heaven having two warm little bodies with you! My favorite thing is crawling into bed at night and schooching next to Missie. We sleep back to back, her head next to my pillow. I love waking up and seeing her like that. lol

Well a picture is worth a thousand words!! Ha ha ha ha!! They even know the concept of resting their heads on the pillows!

However they do have to have manors just like c0_re's. No toys or bones while on the couch and if we're eating they are not alowed on the couch... however that second rule does tend to get broken from time to time. Just so long as they aren't grabbing our food as we are trying to eat it. Also counter and table surfing are totally not tollerated! Ha ha ha ha! They are usually pretty good when the food is out but they do slip up from time to time.

I let Joules up on the bed and the couch. She likes to stand on the end of the couch and stick her head out the window and watch whats going on outside...she is soooo nosy! I do have 'special' blankets she is SUPPOSED to stay on...and to her credit she does most of the time...but she always manages to wriggle herself onto my lap.

She also must get down when I say and go lay on her actual bed...this works for like 10 mins then she is asking to get up on the couch again! :-)

How nice...

Our dogs and cats let us live in their house, sleep in their bed, sit on their couch and chairs...we just have o feed them, let them outside, and of course love them!! It's a great life!!

We (actually, that should say - my mum and her partner) don't allow the dogs on the couches, because they are both leather couches and one of them gets scratched easily, and they don't like the fur everywhere, seeing as the couches are both dark, and Harley and Abby both have light-coloured fur. If it was my choice, I'd buy a more dog-friendly couch!! They do have a comfy bed to sleep on whenever they want though.

Eh, Jake used to be allowed (with encouragement; he's never really been fond of the couch. I guess he sinks too much and it's difficult to get off, lol. But when he'd be craving something thick and warm, he'd hop up without asking). He's not allowed anymore, though, as he has some alpha tendencies (only the Alphas get the good stuff, like human beds, human food, free reign, etc.). He's not even allowed on my bed, though sometimes I put my mattress on the floor and we snuggle (er, that's always my plan, though... Jake never quite gets the message. It's either sleep by my knees, or sleep on his own bed). He has his own nice, thick, orthopedic bed now, and he LOVES it! I know what I said in the above, but Jake actually did enjoy couches and mattresses; he'd just be uncomfortable with the person there (he's shy and uneasy about new things, which is understandable)

Couches, Beds, Chairs they are all free game for my dogs. They all get down when asked though. I just figure why not? Their not hurting anything and im not anal about how everything looks. People say allowing dogs on couches and beds cause's dominance issues but I have never had a problem with my dogs.

Nope Dudley is not allowed on the furniture (hubby's rules) and he never gets up when we are at home, but I know he gets up on the couch when we are not at home, there are always paws prints (suede, its shows everything) on the couch when we come home, but Dudley is smart enough to realize he needs to get down when we come home, I think he thinks he is tricking us, so we humor him, lol.

Our dogs are only allowed on the couch if we are not home or when invited to join us. I enforce the invite rule as my dogs are pushy and need the rules. Plus they squish the kid, we have to keep off couch unless invited, it's a safety thing.

Well, in our current house (That we will be moving out of in 10 days, but have lived in for 7 years) they spend most of their time in my mom's room with access to the backyard. And they are not allowed on my moms bed (Well, its a very high bed and only Charlotte can get on it..So the dogs who can't get on it, sleep on their beds on the floor. And then when I take my 5, they go on my bed...and go on it whenever they want. Lucy (The chihuahua) is always in my room, and the living room..and goes on whatever furniture she wants. We don't even use the couch and chairs in the living room (Except the desk chair) so noboby cares lol.

In the new house, the dogs will be in the family room (Very large) with the door to the backyard (And a baby gate blocking their access to me and my mom's room upstairs when we are not home, so we don't come home to any pillows and things chewed up. Elliot LOVES to eat pillow when no one is looking. But when we are home they will be in our bedrooms as well as the family room and outside)..And there will be couches and chairs in there they can go on whenever they want (They are dog friendly fabrics, and not new..so we don't care..but we will be spending most of our time in the family room, so they have to share the couches and chairs), and at night we will remove the baby gate and they will be in our bedrooms too..and they can sleep with whoever they want, or they can sleep downstairs..They can choose..but most likely they will be in our beds.

Brad and Bjorn never want up on furniture anyway, they sleep on their beds on the floor..but everyone else prefers sleeping in our beds.

What an old thread. LOL

Kenya is allowed to sleep on all the coaches in the house. She loves to sleep on the nice coach in my living room.

my dogs own all the furniture and I feel grateful when I get invited to sit with them lol. Just kidding, but my dogs are little and clean and don't have hardly
any hair and they do sleep in the bed with me too. My older guy Bandit has
his kennel that he consideres "his room" and hides stuff in there from my
younger one, Gracie , who is afraid of "his room". I do keep blankets on the
chairs and sofa as they like to bunch them up and crawl underneath them. I warn
people before they sit down to check the blanket for a dog first.
