who lets their dog sleep on couch? just curious...

this is lucy's new thing like she discovered the couch is more comfy than her blanket on the floor... curious how many people let their dogs up. i am guessing a lot! have a good day..

I do, but by invite only. I don't allow them to just jump up whenever they feel like it...LOL. Sometimes I don't feel like being smushed, neither do visitors.

I'm the same way.. Mazie sleeps on the bed and she knows she can go up there anytime.. But she has to be invited to get up on the couch, chair, whatever.

They will get down when asked, though. Kelso and Ike are really the only ones that wait to be invited up if someone is on the bed/couch. If there is no one there, they help themselves up.

We never buy expensive furniture for this reason, as we are not material people. We have already lost two couches to Sheiba and Denali, so we make sure it's nothing to get all hyped about if we come home to foam all over the floor.

The dogs sware it's those stinkin' exploding couches!

Mine use to own the couch until I rearranged now I sit on it with them. We dont always fit..lol. They own half my bed too

Free roam in the houe that includes couch and bed...
no need to invite they come on their own LOL

Mine are always on the sofa with us. If we aren't on it, they aren't either. They will either get into their own bed for a nap, or go upstairs in the computer/toy room where there is a big round overstuffed doggie bed I made them.

Same here! And no need for an invite. Cozy moves or gets off the couch when asked. I ask once in a great while - just to keep her humble.

If I sit down she just waits for me to pick her up because its to hard to jump lol, but she does insist.
Personally whatever is mine is my dogs as well except for my dinner lol

Mine are allowed too. DaKota always askes also. I started to let her
on the couch & bed about three yrs ago. Glitzie is crated at night time & when I turn the light out & lay down for the night DaKota always gets down & goes to her own bed.

Jesse loves the couch.

Especially in winter when there is a cosy, warm blanket on there for him to snuggle up in.

Saboo and Hippo are allowed on couches and beds without need for invites. Saboo keeps Hippo off of "her" papasan chair though. They get told to get off when they're not exhibiting appropriate, calm, furniture behavior. Generally, it's Hippo being told to get off.

Shadow has his own " chair" for when he doesn't feel like using me as a mattress

. He has no problem sharing that chair when grandma comes over ( his nose is slightly out of joint...but he respects his elders, hehehehe).
