Stupid people

The dog I dog sit for was hit and killed this morning in her own yard. Shenever went out of yard into road but would stand near edge of road. Some one drove off roas to hit her you could see tire marks in grass where they had left edge of road going into yard. They where trying to call and find vet happen'd at 600 am he died before they could do any thing died in her own house in her owners arms. I am so upset by this all. She was a very timd strange dog took her a good long time before she'd warm up to me. I dog sat for her every time her owners went out of town. I trying to think what I can do for owners flowers maybe a card? I'm hopeing this was all an accident and that someone didn't do this just to hit n kill a dog. The road she lived on has a lot of trafic people just flew down that road. Whoever hit her didn't even stop!!!!!! didn't know she had been hit till they went to let her back in found her in the drive all bloody n just lying there. She was found in a swage treatment plant some one had thrown her in pit. When Bobbie (owner ) found her some one had tried to dock tail with rubber band so she only had a half a tail. She was just a puppy just about ready to go under when she was found. I think this dog had been abused she was a very strange dog very scared of people n everything. When I statr'd dog sitting for her she just hid under bed the whole time had to drag her out to go potty etc. But after a couple years she warmed up to me and got to where she's trust me. I was friends with her owner so I would visit alot take her for walks etc. Very sad thing to have happened

What a horrible thing. I'm so sorry for your friends. You know...it does sound like this dog had a pretty rotten life until your friends got her. She may still have been so scarred from her past that she was probably still not a very happy dog inside...all that psychological trauma and fear. As awful as this sounds, it is probably better for the dog to be out of this world which was not good to her. She is at Rainbow Bridge now and happy and healthy. Maybe your friends could benefit from this website below:

My condolences to them and to you. You were good to that dog and she knew some love amongst her fears.

I'm sorry . It must be so horrible for both you and the dog's owners .

not sure of her breeding she was tan in color almost a buff color german shepard shaped type body with longish hair she had a1/2 purple tounge so I know from that she had some chow in her.She was found with a brother Bobbie kept her sister took the boy The boy dog looked nothing like her. So I would say chow/shepard mix. I talked to my friend today and she said the bird (she has a grey parrot) Was calling the dog all day Buddy the bird often did that she''d hear you call the dog n she'd copy you. Said it was kinda sad like the bird knew somthing had happen'd to her friend. I know I will miss my visits with her and she did have a good home her owners are the best. It feels strange to go to their house and not be greated by Rose also very sad.
