Things we secretly love to hate.....

or hate that we love about our dogs. Things that annoy us to no end but are such a part of our dogs personality we wouldn't change for the world.

Shamous has NEVER let us finish a roll of toilet paper

His favorite playthings are my bra's and my panty hose. (he will go up into my dresser and fish them out. Tehn he dances around the house with them sometomes catching the bra strap on his leg and getting very confused as to why everytime he shakes it his head his leg yanks up

He runs outside everymorning with such wild abandon, almost like he's never seen the outside of a house or a yard in his entire life.

Whenever he manages to countersurf (because I forgot to block off the kitchen) he brings me whatever he has found with such a look of glee on his face...like "LOOK at what Ijust found sitting RIGHT ON THE COUNTER!!! there just for MEEEEEEEEEE!

Azrael will be the first to go upstairs with me, then she lays at the top of the stairs and glares at Zada or Libby or both so that they can't come up. If they do attempt it she "flys" down after them, but it's all in play.
At bed time, Azrael and Libby will run to their beds, but Zada will run half way up the stairs and lay there hoping to sleep with us I suppose. We have to go get her each time, because she won't budge!
Libby dearly loves Delsi and she will lay down beside her and lick and chew on Delsi's ears. Sometimes the chewing get's a tad hard and Delsi yells at her.

Geez Shamous sounds like he's part aussie!

Rosie HAS to carry something around in her mouth when she's happy or excited (which is always). She likes to show it to you in the hopes that you'll chase her around trying to get it back. She shows you then turns away, butt a wigglin and keeps looking back to try to entice you. I thought she would eventaully quit doing this since we DON'T chase her. We either ignore it or get her to bring it and hand it to us.
Guests always look a bit worried when she grabs their shoes and brings them to them then runs away. LOL Luckily she doesn't actually chew up anything.
I could do without the counter surfing too- although she only surfs if I leave something REALLY good unattended up there. Then she does the same things as Shamous looks at me like "LOOK! I FOUND A ROAST BEEF! THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!" It's hard not to laugh.

She also stalks and bites the vacuum which I forget about until I hear my cleaning ladies shrieking, laughing and yelling at her in Portugese- it totally cracks me up. Then they put her in her crate saying "in ju go bad doggie" LOVE IT!

(so I guess I should say that accents are also one of my favorite things)

hmmm

there is one thing with Kessy...
she is grumpy with other dogs... it makes it difficult to get along with other dogs, but I have to admit I would miss it if she would quit it!

Aika loves to sleep in bed on me preferably and then she turns the "gravity" up and just is there you can move her arround and the blanket with her and she just stays... sometimes i wish she would move , but on the other hand when you have to move she does not get up when you want her to stay...

-- Nice and fresh from a shower, Latte (poodle) must help me dry off my feet with his tongue.

-- Still somewhat fresh from my shower, Latte follows me around poking my leg with his wet nose.

-- Busy working on my laptop (I often work from home) and I notice a red object on my lap and Latte calmly sitting in front of me. He has given me a Kong to throw.

-- After telling Latte to "hush up" while I'm on a conference call. he quietly gives one last 'yelp' as if to say, "But I'm so cute.".

-- Latte taunts Boo (Min Pin) by trying to take away his raw bone (Latte doesn't care much for raw bones) and just as Boo is ready to pound him, he licks Boo on the mouth.

-- Boo turns around 10 times on my lap before lying down.

- Hearing the thump of a dog jumping off my bed upstairs when she hears the keyboard drawer slide in, signifying that I am getting off the computer and likely coming upstairs. Rule #1 in my house - no dogs on the bed (I know, I'm mean).

- How my boy will run and hide in his crate when he sees me heading to the medicine cabinet twice a day for his thyroid meds.

- How my Bella puppy is so beautiful and knows it, but comes in full of burrs after a blast through the pasture.

- How, when it's dang COLD outside, particularly late in the evening, I take my old boy out to do his business, and, at the command of "do your business", he grabs a stick and starts a merry game of play bowing and keep away..... did no one tell him that it's COLD OUTSIDE!

Taking Reggie out to go to the bathroom when it is pouring rain, and she lays down and looks at me as if to say, It is so nice out lets stay here for awhile. I have never had a furkid who loved to play in the rain like she does.
It is even better when there is lightening and thunder, me with the umbrella, and she justs sits down to watch the "light show" in the sky.

Every time I get a phone call, Reggie starts to "talk " to me. She doesn't bark, just makes stange noises. Just like me human kids used to when they were home and I was on the phone.

Talena scratches at the back door when she wants in, but she wont give up until I let her in. It will last for hours if I let it. The worst thing about this is the door is metal where she scratches and it sounds like a washboard is being played. When she does this I call it "Talena practicing her washboard playing for the blue grass band she will one day have"

Fallon has to lift up my pant leg with her nose and lick my leg. One time I had a dream where a bum was licking my feet and in the dream I was kicking him away. I woke up to Fallon licking my feet LOL

Lucky barks from out of nowhere and scares the stuf out of me.

But I adore my goof ball kids. Wouldnt have them any other way.

Saboo has issues with getting dirty. She won't step in mud, she won't walk through wet grass (unless I'm being an absolute meanie), heck, she'll refuse to go outside for a solid 20 hours if it's rainy. If the grass is wet from dew, she'll pee on the sidewalk. It drives me nuts.

Hippo... wallows in mud. She goes galloping through mud puddles, plops down for a rest in the muck on the edge of a pond, loves the mud. She'll actually pounce on puddles. She's discovered that running at Saboo (or me!) covered in mud gets a fun response.

It drives me crazy... their silly little quirks and how they're the exact opposite of each other. But boy do I love them!

Sheiba will sit and constantly "sing" to you if you have something sweet (a cookie) or chicken, or when she wants something.

Denali HAS to come up and sniff your plate before she goes to lay down. She'll keep her distance, but licks the air like a snake to see if she can taste it.

Ike stands in your way, steps on your toes, knocks things over. Clumsy 'oof'.

Kelso loves to rub in the grass, or the dirt -- especially if he escapes outside. He then likes to play keep away as he gets a roll in now and then. He likes to trick me into thinking he's done rolling, so I let him sit there, until I turn my back and he's rolling all over the place again. Then he thinks it's funny to run at me, paws in the air when he's covered in dirt..

These are cute. I thought it would be fun to see what naughtyness all of our babies have. Especially knowing that on here (this site) we all love our animals and work our hardest to make them well mannered.

Shelby thinks she can speak, and I swear she is getting very close to her first word.

Kenzie will use you as a launching pad if you are sitting on the couch, so when I am chasing Shelby around the couch Kenzie will run back and foreword on the couch usually pouncing on her mom

Blackie's dog aggression. It drives me crazy and it keeps me on my toes, but it is so much of who he is I don't know if I would change it. Allthough we have been controlling it much better now.
His water fetish. lol He is a Lab, so he LOVES water. While I don't appriceate him going and jumping in a mud puddle or swimming in the stinky creek, he would be the same dog if he didn't like water.

Rose loves to talk to you and bark at the smallest noise. It can get annoying (especially at three o'clock in the morning) but it wouldn't be the same "her" if she didn't.
I also love (and hate) her preydrive. It is funny to see her chasing a rabbit and go the completely opposite way that the rabbit ran, but when she directs that to my bird and ferrets....not so funny. Although how she just sits right by their cage and stares at them and jumps at the slightest sound from them is kinda funny.

Sadie's pogo stick jump. Whenver she gets really excited, she'll jump straight up in the air while whining. Seeing a 65lb Lab jump about three feet straight up is cute, albeit a bit annoying.
I also love her puppy run. She tucks her tail down, sets her haunches back, and just takes off. I've never seen another dog run like that. It is so cute!

And then I could go on and on about my ferrets driving me crazy but how I wouldn't change them for the world.

Shadow scooting his bum on my kitchen runner when he's happy to see company ( no his anal glands are fine ...it's just a silly habit.)

How he licks my husbands bald spot when we are in bed just to say " I love you".

How he can look soooo bloody innocent when he passed gas, like " Who me? How could you think such a thing"

No matter what, he is the love of my life!

When Elite is the "silent shadow" in the kitchen....I am fixing something and turn around...there she is! and I have been known to trip over her.

Spatz has a need to be touched...CONSTANTLY. I have done a test, and she will stand for 30 minutes while I have one finger touching her head.

Max and his "macho-ism" .....'nuff said (he's a JRT, no perversion intended)

Carlo and his unbendable bond with my husband. (Completely ignoring me at all costs)

And finally Boscoe, the 8 week old puppy brain and coordination stuck in a 2 year old's body (which makes for a very clumsy, and weird Rotty!)
