Sims 2 Pets

I haven't looked into any of the expansion packs nor do I know anything about them but the pets have me wanting to know more! So, this may seem like a really dumb question but I haven't a clue....is this something that I can purchase for my Sims2 game without buying anything else?

Not a dumb question. Yes you can buy and install Pets without buying any of the other expansions.

I finally got the game! It seems fantastic right now! I love having flexibility with creating dogs/cats (unlike the original Sims Unleashed). I'm trying to create a Koolie right now, so I might have it up for download on my Sims page soon.

Oh, I was thinking of creating a Koolie too. Haven't been brave enough yet though. I can't wait to see what yours looks like. I wish I could upload my dogs to my sims page. I'll have to figure out how to fix the problem I have.

How funny is that! What a coinsidence!! I'm a little annoyed, I created a Koolie and saved it as a pet, instead of a breed (didn't know what I was doing). So, I'll have to recreate it again, but it took me over an hour! I created a Jack Russell... not too sure how well it'll look once it's added to a family, but I uploaded it to my Sims page.

If you end up creating a Koolie I'd love to see what yours looks like!

Swiftwind...If the Koolie is in the game, you can use the phone to register it as a breed and it will show up in the create-a-pet thing.

I'll try creating a Koolie today. I'd like to have a Sim with a couple of working dogs (BC, Koolie and maybe a cattle dog).

Sonja...there are already Bulldogs in the game. I haven't given them to any sims yet...there are so many breeds (including ones I created) that I don't think I'll ever use them all.

I have to say, my favourite breeds in the games so far are the wirehaired breeds they look amazing, almost real. I think I'll make a sim with a few of the smaller wirehaired dogs. Gods, I've become obsessed with this thing.

Thank you! I realised this after I recreated my Koolie breed. I have uploaded 3 dog breeds and 1 cat breed. I like the wire haired breeds too, I created a wire coated parson russell terrier. It's a bit annoying how small the small dogs are! They look like the size of Chihuahuas!

They do look a little small, but it's much improved from Unleashed. lol Remember in that the Rottweilers were the same size as the Chihuahuas.

I went to the Sims pages and saw a few of the Bulldogs (thanks for letting me know by the way Cass ) and I've got to say that they sure don't look like any of my babies.

Looks like fun though and I'd bet that after getting used to it a bit you could tweek just about any breed into what you wanted it to look like.

That's what's so great about it. You can actually create breeds from scratch. So you can change the breeds that they have in it so they look more realistic. I don't think the designers had much dog knowledge. lol I've created many breeds and tweaked the ones they already have so they look better when my sims adopt them.

And my Canis Panther breeding program is going well. LOL I'm so sad. So very very sad.

OMG those two dogs are hilarious!!! I hope you uploaded them to the exchange. I wonder what the pups would look like?

I haven't made a werewolf yet, I keep getting distracted with the dogs, but I'll make a sim just for that. How difficult is it for them? The vampires have such a hard time it's not worth creating them.

I actually used a cheat to get the wolf leader to return because he didn't come that often and left after just a little bit. He is a knowledge sim and loves to be a werewolf. lol his fear is to be cured. He still makes a good father and husband.
