Dog constantly escaping, here's the story...
Here is the story I posted on another board...
Quote:
I wanted to know.. can they get in trouble for their dog constantly running loose? I know he digs out of the fence, but I mean C'mon, they should watch him while outside. He just constantly gets out... he's not neutered and if we find him again, we're going to tell them if they neuter him, it may help with his wandering problem a bit. We're just so baffled out how Ike still manages to get out... He's such a sweet dog.. he's so friendly, and he respects Sarge ALOT. Sarge is an old grouch, so if he comes near him, Sarge growls, so wherever Sarge is, he wont go in that room... My mom would try to call him, and he'd wag his tail and want to come over so bad, but he's afraid Bub won't let him LOL You would think, if he just flat out had an escaping problem, he'd try to get out at my house... well, when he's here, he never leaves the front yard if off leash, he stays out back, and doesn't wanna leave when they come to pick him up. Do any of you know if they can get in trouble for their dog constantly getting out? Thanks anybody! ![]() Oh, here's some pics! (Note: these pics are of him when he was about 8-9 months old -------he's probably 1 year by now) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() He looooooves Denali ![]() Typical male... just doesn't listen!! ![]() ![]() This pic doesn't really show anything, but gives you a pretty good idea of how big he was at 8-9 months ![]() |

. OH MY GOD!!!! Reading that just p***ed me off, made me mad and want to cry. If I were in your situtation I would do the following:1st- contact the Non-emergency Police dept and/or your local Animal control to give you sugguestions or recommandations on how to take action and what steps you could take to help get IKE out of there. See if you can FILE A REPORT OR COMPLIANT!!! 2nd- If possible try-to set up a video camera and/or take pictures. Maybe, have one of your family members Video them or take pictures through a window, when they arrive to pick Ike up and maybe capture a pic or have it caught on type. 3rd- KEEP IKE! OH, I gotta go.... Boss Coming... I"ll see what I can find out to help IKE! I'll Be back later!!!! |

3rd - if we ever find out that he IS getting beaten, or we actually see proof of them beating the dog... then we're gunna keep him. That's a good idea about calling the AC to find out what can be done, cause my mom had said before, that she was going to call, and not give Ike back, but she gives him back each time. I think I may call myself to find out what can be done... Anyone else have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks for your help Nichole! |

If you just keep him, they'd probably want him back. But I'd be tempted to find him a new owner that lives far away that would be good to him. No wonder he doesn't want to stay there, the poor baby. I wish you could just keep him. Maybe they'll let you. That dog needs to get out of there. They should be reported. That just pisses me off!!!!

Thanks for the sites Nichole... I looked for stuff about reporting, but they didn't say much... I guess I'll just have to call and see what I can do.. I'll try to call tomorrow or Friday. I'll keep you guys updated as to what happens.
I just can't even believe they don't have a collar, tags, or chip for him. *sigh* I just hope he doesn't end up going to the wrong person, and they steal him... or gets hit by a car. ![]() |

Perhaps they would let you buy him. Offer what they paid for him if you can. I can't stand to think that they own a dog and then hit it or yell at him. Poor baby! Call the authorities and let them take the dog to the pound, then you can adopt him!
