Luckydog I 100% DISagree with you.
I'm with Quincy on this one. Some dogs are just bad to begin with, whether it be poor genetics or just a "bad egg", and IMO a dog that mauls a baby into critical condition without an obvious reason (resource guarding and the like) is not a good dog, it is not a good pet. I don't care if it might have been abused, that is no excuse to keep an unstable potentially vicious dog alive.
The day one of my dogs mauls someone into critical for no apparent reason (abused or not) is the last day he will see the sun rise. JMO.
PS - the reason I make the exception for resource guarding is because this is sometimes something that an experienced owner can manage. Out-of-the-blue aggression is something that not many experienced owners even want to deal with. On top of it all, why keep an aggressive pit bull in this world? Aren't there enough aggressive pit bulls that get tons of media attention?
