MAD (after reading "public board" at Petco)

So I stopped at Petco today to post a flyer for a Boxer Meet-up group that I'm trying to organize...
as I was posting my flyer I was checking out the other flyers too...
I was pretty P*ssed when I was done reading.
There was a flyer that someone posted that said (real big, no less):
"BOXER DOG FOR STUD SERVICE"
Under the info, there were two pictures of what looked to me (I'm no pro mind you) like a boxer mix. He was brindle but he had a REALLY long nose for a boxer. He had a Pit crop and a natural tail (?).
The flyer said that he had "papers" (also written really big-like that's a huge deal!) didn't say with which registry or anything (christ, these people could mean that their dog has the Sunday Papers).
Here's the Kicker... Said Boxer is 11 months old.

Right next to this flyer was one with pictures of a Dobie that also said "DOBERMAN FOR STUD SERVICE"
papers
handsome
good with kids
good temperment
"nice ears" (I dunno why that wrote that)
1 year old.
I'm looking at the writing and I'm thinking that the two flyers' handwriting looks very similar and they're both laid out in the same fashion, then I compare phone numbers and .... imagine this... they're the same!
Can you beleive it?
Not one poor dog, but two!
I just can't imagine... maybe I'm a little opinionated in this area....
but why would they want to make their Boxer look like a pit (not that they're not great looking dogs, pits, but ITS A BOXER!). Why would they want to stud out an 11 month old puppy?
Same thing with the Dobe... he's a baby!
It was a rip-tab type of flyer (you know, the kind with "fringes" of information at the bottom and you just rip it off and take it with you) and only one tab was gone from each flyer (probably taken by the same person). I just dunno...

......my poor mom would have to listen to me rant and blow off my steam all of the way home....

... some of you may not know what I would do, but I will say it anyways.

If that was me bxchic

I would have taken the number and done one or more of the following:

* Take the flyer sign down.

* Rip off a the piece with his number on it

, call him and give him an (not so nice) ear full.

or
* Call him and get all the information I can from him

and then post flyers up explaining what he is doing.

(I would make it real embarrassing or make him look like a real a******)
I could probably tell you more but... I would have to think about it for awhile

and plus I can't tell you all.... how my hidden evil side can work

I considered doing ALL of those things, unfortunately the chic that was working at the store was there too. I think that she knew what I was looking at b/c she proceeded to tell me about how the store doesn't support or approve any of the flyers on that board. That it's a public board, yadda yadda yadda... I thought about calling them to "milk" info out of them and then get all ritious on them and tell them why they shouldn't breed, but I really dont think that it would have made a difference to them. Realistically, these people think that they're going to make a small business out of "pimping" out their dogs to make puppies. They have in thier heads that its a good idea and they probably wont turn their noses up at the possibility of making some extra cash just b/c of my ranting. Look at Wizard of Claws (not to bring them up again, but), people have called them repeatedly and gotten quite wicked with them on occassion and they STILL think that there's nothing wrong with what their doing. Some people are just out there being dumb. I guess it could be worse though... they too could have kids thus passing on the dreaded "Dumb*ss" gene. Lets hope they leave the reproducing up to the dogs who may hopefully either end up in a nice home (crossing fingers) or in a No Kill shelter (knowing the odds, REALLY crossing fingers). Its just sad.

That's got BYB allllll over it! It unethical and from a company that supposedly "cares" about pets... um... where's the "care"????
That would be like listening to some pediphile (sp?) talk about how he molests his kids and not saying anything about it. Couldn't one draw that connection? Or is it "too far off base"?
Also, what if the content of the flyer was downright offensive?
What if someone posted a flyer for a local KKK clan meeting or something? These flyers should really be screened. Period. That type of material (the kkk crap and the puppy pimping) is just inappropriate (and quite offensive at that!).

sorry... just more ranting...I'll be done now... I promise...
