Drew and his shadow

[Crossfire Bulldogs]

My big guy Drew ( all 83 pounds of him ) is about the most laid back bulldog you'd ever meet, nothing gets this guy stirred up and he has the temperament and patience of a saint. His favorite thing in life is when there are little ones in the house, wether they be puppies or human babies Drew has to be right there to watch over them.

Anyway, out of our last litter of pups we kept two show prospects a male and a female ( Dugan & Immy ) and Drew was there from day one to make sure everything went along as it should and he "helped" raise the litter. Dugan has been infatuated with Drew since he first was able to open his eyes and my big guy has taken under his wing, you know, show him the ropes on what to do and what not to do and Dugan couldn't be happier!

Dugan tries to parrot everything Drew does, from his good morning woof to only eating when Drew does and they've been really cute to watch. Lastnight when I let the dogs out to potty I watched as Drew and Dugan headed up the hill towards their favorite spot, Drew stopped to potty and of course so did Dugan, Drew usually squats to pee unless the females are around or he's somewhere where he thinks he may need to impress someone.

So, he and Dugan squat to pee and then Drew stand up straight and does his usual kicking back with his back legs and the grass goes flying, Dugan cocks his head to one side, watches this all take place then takes his stance to do the same, he starts kicking....one problem, he forgets that at least ONE foot has to remain on the ground and falls flat on his little wrinkled nose. LOL It was so funny! Drew looks at him then looks up at me as if to say, "kids, good grief mom what am I gonna do with this one?" he then takes his nose under Dugan's butt pushes him up and pushes him back towards the top of the hill to relax. Wish you could watch these two, their so cute to watch!

Wow!!! 83 LBS! I didn't know they got that big. Well, that is a cute story. Aren't they interesting to watch interact? I love having multiple dogs. (except when I have to travel) They are a kick.

LOL, Crossfire, he weighs more than all of my girls...Colby is at 50, May at 63 at Tippy has lost some weight, she's supposed to be at 60 I think.....

Drew is WAY over what is called for in the breed standard, he was bred by a friend in Ohio and when I saw him I just fell in love, he was a darling pup and a true gentleman as an adult. The other two from his litter - very standard cobby girls. Not sure where he got all that size from, his father is Ch. Flippins Scout and his mother out of Ch. Millcoats Titus...both very standard.

Strange how it works at times but he's my big ole' pet / teddy bear and I wouldn't want him any other way.
