Well in a year or two I would like to get a new dog. I just like to research as much as possible before I do. Before I got Kuchi, I researched for about 2 years (including being on waiting list) on what breeder, what to feed, how to train, personality matches...
I was wondering what my next breed should be... Since some of you will have more experience with dogs other than keeshonden I wanted to ask on here. My requirements or preferred traits (I understand every dog in the breed is different) Quiet, but okay to bark for warning so no beagles Active (1 hour walk daily, hikes in spring/summer), but not too active aka border collie Close to no grooming requirements, since Kuchi will take up to 4-5 hrs a week on grooming, I won't have time to do that twice! Will show, male preffered so will have to get along with another intact male 45 pounds or larger, Kuchi gets along with dogs larger than him faster Easy to moderate training ability And of course CUTE!!! What to do you think? |

Maybe a Pointer? Or one of the other gundogs?
What's your idea of 'cute'? To me 'cute' is a giant slobbering beast of a dog like a Neapolitan Mastiff. lol So you see it's a bit subjective. Cass. |

I agree. They are active, but are very happy to snuggle up on the couch and watch some movies

I say the greyhound too.I work with these and beagles and have to say that the greyhound and the beagle are two of my favorites...greyhounds are #1.Since you said no to the beagle,I suggest the grey!
They are couch potatoes for the most part, but are up for nice long walks.I used to have co-pwnership of 3 of them and they were really happy to go on walking trails and everything.I would take them everywhere. They make good jogging/hiking companions. They are very quiet...very rarely do they bark and some just don't bark at all. They are docile, friendly and super sweet. They get along well with other dogs and also cats.Well most anyway. And they are a beautiful looking dog! I only have good things to say about the breed! |

The quietness of a greyhound does sound tempting.
![]() I still have another year or two I guess. I tried the searches and I think I got labrador, gsd and of course keeshond!!! I guess I just wanted to see what everyone's pick would be. Looks like greyhound would win. |

GSDs are awesome! They can be cuddlers too. Love to be with you all the time & just love to hike.
