Pacific Northwest Weather
I went for a drive today and took a few pics of the floods that have started in my area due to the storm we've had the past few days...
Here's the bridge at the end of our driveway http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...s/100_5469.jpg Just down the road: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...s/100_5457.jpg Here's our back yard: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...s/100_5524.jpg Coming up to the tavern: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...s/100_5507.jpg And the fairgrounds... This one shocked me because I never thought I'd see the water THAT high: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...s/100_5491.jpg If you look closely, you can see a truck to the left of the blue house and a car where the driveway is suppose to be... And finally my "cousin's" house: http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...s/100_5489.jpg At least the ducks and geese like it.. x.x Anyone else in the NW having any flooding issues from the storm? |

I had to put sandbags against my back door and block the inside with towels. The water filled my backyard and came up to the door stoop but didn't go high enough to come inside. It stayed about 8 inches away.
By the end of the night, when I got back from work, the water was way down though. The yard is still flooded but no more danger of it coming inside the house. I had to work at Seatac Airport all day and we sustained a LOT of damage there. Part of the roof collasped in the North Satellite and broke a water pipe. The stairs that go down into the operations hub was a waterfall. We had to sand bag the door to our breakroom and water came in and filled the room with about two inches of water before maintenance could clear the drains. No damage except for the smell that was still there this morning. The bagwell where we drop off the incoming bags ( under the carousel ) was flooded and had to be pumped out too. It was taking us over an hour to get the bags to the passengers. What a mess! Tonight the moon is out though and It is the most beautiful sight in the world! I'll have to tell the wiener dogs we don't have to build a really long Ark after all. ![]() |

Wow that's amazing!
I remember a few years back my area flooded and it was quite scary! We saw Harley's dog kennel just float past the back door! I have to say, it looks SO beautiful where you live. |

Is that a rain spout in the third picture? The last picture says it all.........only mean for ducks!
Beautiful country you live in, but it rains way too much for me. We do need some of the wet stuff since were having unusually warm weather and no rain. I hope you don't continue to have all that flooding this winter. |

The creek has receded and we no longer have a lake in the yard... But it's still flooded in the field.. At least the cows got to higher ground..
