I no longer have Libby
A frind of mine who is retired, lives alone and lost her schnauzer a few months back had been looking for a little dog who really needed a home. She kept checking with the shelters and even ran an ad. I did not know how desperate she was to find a little companion to share her life, travels and bed with when I sent her a picture of Libby. She nearly had heart failure and drove all the way here from San Jose just to meet her. She fell in love with Libby and Libby with her. She slept with her, walked her and took her everywhere we went. I gave in and let her take Libby home with her. How could not! She lives in an upscale retirement village that's gated and guarded. Lots of large areas for doggies and people keep everything clean by picking up after their dogs.
I won't be adopting any more. I miss Libby so much, but I know she is getting 100% of all the attention and being taken everywhere and getting very, very socialized. She even goes out for lunch at all the places with outside eating that people go with their dogs. Zada and Azrael were very sad for a couple of days after Libby left. They loved her too. Libby left with her new mom on the 2nd of this month (November) |

That was a wonderful thing for you to do. I'm sure that lady cannot thank you enough for what you have given to her. Sounds like Libby will be living like a Princess.

You've got a heart of gold, Calgal, it isn't always the easiest thing to do but you had Libby's future at heart.
I will miss seeing her little face in your posts...maybe your friend could send pictures now and again. |

It isn't getting any easier. I miss her so much. I only had her 3 months. If I had had her longer, I'm wondering if I could have let her go. I will attach a picture of her and her new mommy. Yes, her new mom will keep me posted each day, plus she will be down to visit and I will visit her when I go up there to visit my sons.

Aw! Look how big Libby has gotten! Her new mommy looks VERY happy and Libby looks very comfortable with her.
It certainly isn't easy. After what you knew she had went through, I'm sure there was a much closer bond to her. Hoping your heart heals with time. |

What a nice thing to do Calgal, for someone else. They do look happy.

What a truly unselfish and caring thing to do Cal, it takes someone with a wonderfully large heart to care for our pets and someone with an even bigger one to let them go.
They look very happy together and even though I know you miss her there is no doubt in my mind that their happiness together will be enough to give you twice as much joy. ![]() |

What a generous and thoughtful thing to do...you made both of them SO happy! And the good part is you are still going to be a part of their lives, so you can share their joy.
Hugs to all of you!! |
