What was the first pet you ever owned?

I think my very first pet might of been a goldfish

or something, not really sure, but i also had 2 cats when I was growing up, they both died.

One just died and the other was blind in both eyes and was deaf in both ears and was put to sleep. I still miss them.

Um...fish and bugs. But then again I lived with lizards, frogs, salamanders, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs...birds....now just dogs

I never really considered my captured insects pets but..... I did have crickets once! I wanted to get a lizard of some sort and feed the crickets to it but my mom wouldn't let me buy a lizard

I think mine was a white goldfish named Sparkle (I think). Unless we're counting bugs, then my first pet would be a grasshopper.

I was born into a family with many chihuahuas and terriers. But my first memory of MY own animal was buckskin mustang/quarter horse when I was 7 years old. And right after him, my folks got me a hound mix named Bear. Those were my first two animals.

Hm, I don't really remember, but I grew up with 2 yorkies, a GR/Chow mix, 4 cats, 3 bunnies(after the first one passed, I got 2 more from my brother for Easter) , and 4 birds(1st one was mean, couldn't hold him or pet him).

well if we are counting bugs and ect, my first pet was the common backyard lizard named Glory! lol, but i also had a cat named Tomasina (she was a devil to evryone but me! lol!) and i also had a minnow named Richie (off of happy days! lol!)

Well my first pet was our cat, Rush. We've had him ever since I was two. But my first real pet (ie. it was mine and I fed it and stuff) was a Tortiose I got for Christmas. Her name was Toby. I got rid of her after I had had her for a year (maybe) because I wasn't taking good care of her and I wanted her to be in a better home than I was giving her. (I was only 6 or 7 at the time.) We gave her to my cousin.

My first pet was either a baby red-earred turtle or a goldfish. I must've been around 3. I remember walking downtown with my mom to the dime store and carrying it home in a box like you get from Chinese food. That was in the days before baggies (or space travel) ! BTW, back then, it wasn't illegal to have red-earred turtles. It is now.

I grew up with cats, the first one I remember was a blue longhaired male called Mopsy, but he was the family cat I guess. The first animal I really considered mine was actually the next door neighbours GSD. His name was Nero and I always told people he was my dog but he lived next door

. He was the sweetest guy in the whole world and I use to sneak next door (I was like 3 or 4 a the time BTW) so I could play with him (with the owner present of course, just without my parents knowledge. LOL). Mostly he just stuck his nose through the fence so I could pat him. I loved him soooo much. I dreamed of owning a GSD until I was about 13, he was my first real introduction to dogs and I thank him for that. He was a great example.
