Zada and Azrael's Christmas harnesses.

I didn't make them a fancy dress, but did make them this harness. I made two just alike. The material has silver thread running thru it.
Also made a little pink and black one.

Oh my goodness! Those are adorable. The lavander one is so pretty and soft and the plaid one is just so stylish. I would love to be able to do that. You ARE talented and accomplished.

I don't have any patterns. These are just so simple to make. Measure around their necks and rib cage and cut them out. You could use a brown paper bag to make a pattern and get it to fit before cutting the fabric. I use a quilting material to make them hold their shape better.

thank you for sharing that info with me. I will give that a try as I am in Australia and stylish dog apparel is hard to come by.

Thanks again

Those are so cute! You have a real gift for making those and could probably male some money by selling them. I haven't seen anything like them in stores and really need a comfy harness for Maggie. I wish I had a sewing machine.

I'm getting ready to make them white quilted with red trim for the Christmas holidays too, so I'll do my best to show you how it's done.
First I cut two each of these so the underside is the same as the top. The padding at the top is only used with the other material that isn't padded.

Next, I'm useing a red bias tape for trim.

Sew the webbing (bought by the yard and in lots of colors) at the top.

Cute it off at the bottom.

Sew the bias tape to the bottom (and going "under" the webbing) and the top of the neck part.

Next, sew the bias on the top part of the girth.

Sew webbing from top, down to the arrow, then across, and back up to the top. At the arrow, triple stitch that area.

Next put ribbing thru the D-ring up to where you triple stitched, and start from right under the D-ring and sew down then across the end and back up to the triple stitch.

Sew the bias tape to the bottom.

the x and y (or male female) velcro is bought by the yard. Cut two same size pieces for the bottom and two same size pieces for the top.

They will be sewn on like this....

sew those on last though. Sew on the rest of the bias tape, sewing the ends last. It looks better that way.

Take the plastic bags your newspapers are generally delivered in, and cut pieces to place over the male, or Y part of the Velcro and sew over it then peel off plastic. It keeps your needle from sticking and breaking the thread. I hope this helps. I'm not really too good at explaining things.

I forgot to say that the Y or male part of the velcro that's really bumpy and sticks to things, is sewn on the opposite side from the female velcro.
