Exclamation Dog Boots

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me any recommendations on good quality (snow/water) boots for dogs. I want to prepare and keep my girls feet warm for the winter. I am looking for ones that do not fall off their feet easily. The only brand I could come up with is Ruff Wear. Does anyone use boots for your dog(s), if so what is your experience with them?

Thanks in Advance for your replies!
Nichole

I can't comment on the quality because I don't have them, but I was going to order the Fidofleece booties to match Duke's Fidofleece that he will be getting soon. They sound pretty durable from the description though.
He'll be quite the stylish boy when I'm done with him.

Sorry. I was in a hurry, so I forgot to go into details.

As we skinny legged dog owners know, booties usually slide off fairly easily. This is especially true for Greyhounds. Though they're couch potatoes inside, they're running/trotting fools outside. And being tissue skinned dogs, they need insulation and durability. *member name* lives in an area prone to snow and chilly weather. She made up her boots which really are boots. They're tall to suit our skinny, tall hounds and the rear boots slide up and rest nicely on top of the hock. Here's a pic:

Hey Thanks for the referral !

Anyone looking for Blizzard Boots is welcome to contact me. These boots are designed for thin legged hounds like a whippet, greyhound, doberman.

My apparel line is designed for that hard to fit "peanut shaped" dog with a deep chest and narrow waist. Darts in the rear prevent the jackets from shifting and give full coverage.

Just click the link below the pic-cha's to visit !

Thanks guys!!! Looks like I will have to make a choice and do some shopping!

itscath- I Like your boots they look durable! A bit pricey, but willing to pay.
GreenleafGreyhound- thanks for the details!
Hummmm , I think Vizsla would be considered skinny legged too.(?)

Yes the Blizzard boots should fit a Vizsla. Let me know the dogs leg measurements beforehand just to make sure or I can send you some instuctions on how to meausure legs and feet. The ID of the boots I make is aprox. 3.5 inches. These boots will not fit on lab's or goldens. Their flippers are just too big around to fit in the hole and the joints are typically shorter than a sighthound although custom sized boots can be made available

As for price, yes I agree they are expensive. It takes me about 2 hours labour to make one set of boots, not including cutting time for materials. The shell is made from water resistant cordura with genuine moccasin leather soles and toe caps. The shell is sewn using 10 pound test bonded nylon thread to ensure a rugged boot that will withstand rigourous off-lead running and the lining is seamless so the boot will not rub on your dogs legs and feet. The boots fasten above the joints where there is less friction insulating and protecting both the feet and legs.

On the other hand muttluks are 50 bones here at the petstore and ya only get an ankle boot that rubs the hair and skin right off from friction if you have an active dog with skinny, short haired legs. Those ankle boots dont stay on thin legs anyway unless they are overtighened.

If you have any questions about them just lemme know!

WOW , thanks for the reply and info. I would love for you to send me some information on how to measure. Please pm me (then, I would be able to give you my email address, if need.)

The price.... as long as its worth it, I don't mind paying for it. It sounds reasonable for the process and hard work that involves.

Thanks for the tip.
