My mom had a chow that we had to put down. We tried to work with her for years and she was doing well, but My mom was taking care of my niece and she was around three or so when the chow started having back problems. This made her very touchy and she tried to attack my mom a few times. She was scared for my niece and the vet said her back problem would never get better so we gave her the best way out we could. It was so sad. Ive never had to do anything like that but the one time.
I have and will do ANYTHING for my kids. I stopped spending change and keep it in a jar for emergency vet visits. I am a fulltime college student so I have little money, but the money I do have it saved or spent first on my 12 fur-kids (dogs, cats, rats). Ive been to the point where it was feed me or them and they got fed. I dont cut corners when it comes to them. Heck anyone who knows the story of Lucky knows Ive spent a mint on him and Im not done yet. okay im rambling now ![]() |

What would I do for my dogs?
I always say I would take a bullet for my dogs, and I mean it-I made the choice NOT to have my boy`s leg amputated when he had a mast cell tumor,I chose chemo, and meds....so he could live out his life as a happy.whole dog-well,he BEAT the cancer, and is one happy, active dog!!! I made the choice I made not because of the money($10,000+)for all the surgery, radiation treatments,chemo,etc-I made my choice to let my boy live as he had been living-happy,and active, not 3-legged,drugged,in pain, and miserable. The tough choices have to be made-I would rather have had him live a short time as he was, than put him thru so much hell. |
