Thumbs up New Neighbor!
Many of you may remember the fiasco we had here over the summer regarding our "redneck neighbors"... If not, here's the original threads.

Well, about 3 weeks ago, we got a new neighbor, and luckily, he's a dog lover! He's got an 8 year old malamute, named Biggy, whom Mazie fell in love with almost immediately.. and vice versa..

The guy is out of town until Friday and asked if I could dog-sit for him while he was gone... Of course I will! So every couple hours I go next door and check on him, give him many pets, take him outside, whatever.. I couldn't bring him over here because I'm not sure how he'd handle cats and don't really want to take that chance.. It's a short 2 minute walk there, so that's no big deal. When I go over there tomorrow, I'll get some pics.. He's such a good boy.

I feel bad for the guy.. He lost everything that he had in storage due to the mass flooding we had a couple weeks ago, so the house is kinda bare save for the dog's couch, TV, phone, and a matress on the floor of the living room.. I told him if he ever needed anything, come on over and we'll help him out..

Anyway, just thought I'd give a quick update on what's been going on here regarding the issue. I'll add a picture of Biggy to this thread tomorrow sometime..

Very cool!! One of the first dogs I ever took in the ring as a junior was a malamute. I don't remember them being particularily intelligent, but, we managed.

He's a goofball.. He grumbles at me when I go over there, but once he figures out who I am, he's quick to lean on me and receive a few pettings.. Though last time I went over there, I didn't go back home for an hour or so... LOL He just kept nudging me, begging for more.. LOL

Here's a pic of Biggy.. It's the best picture I could get of him -- He's a bit camera shy, but I'll get a better one of him soon enough.. hehehe



After I put the camera back in my pocket, I kneeled down to pet him at his level.. He placed his head in my gut, bowled me over, and proceeded to "laugh" at me as if he was saying, "Don't you ever come near me with that flashing thing again!" LOL He's such a goof..

i am happy that the neighbor trusted you to take care of him the few days he will be gone

just hope it doesn't turn out like with the other ones (i read the 2 rants about them)
