Before and After.....

For Christmas (early) the hubby and I purchased 2 brand new Harley motorcycles. On the 22nd, we brought them home after riding for a bit around town. I was proud to put the first 29 miles on it! Then on the 23rd, we took them out for another ride. The weather was a bit chilly, but we knew it would warm up as the day went on.

Here are the pics of them before bringing them home:

And this is what mine looks like after I wrecked it on the 23rd (after having it not even 2 full days!!)

I'm ok, thank goodness for leather! Took a curve too high and got into some loose gravel....then went into the ditch!

So for those of you that know anything about bikes, here is the damage:

Broken shifter peg and linkage, shattered mirror, bent handlebars, scratched up primary cover, scratched front fender and rear fender, bent/broken front turn signals, dented/scratched gas tank, and scratches on the front forks.

I guess the biggest damage was too my pride, because as soon as I went into the curve, I knew I was too high. Oh well, that's what insurance is for. And band-aids for my scuffed elbow and knee! LOL

I'm so glad you were not seriously injured or worse. I don't care much for motor cycles. No metal surrounding you to keep you safer than being your own buffer. I had a cousin killed on one and a best friend nearly died.

I grew up around Harley's, My mother and stepfather were always off on there's.
Again, I am so glad you are OK and I am proud of you for getting right back up on the horse!

Glad your ok! Pretty bikes and yep, it can be fixed easier than you can so I'm glad the bike got the worst end of it.

Hopefully you'll get it back before the snow hits the ground and can ride again.

Oh, darn it all....

It's still a beautiful bike, despite it's additional beauty marks!! They both are...

We just convinced my fil to buy a bike from a guy that works at HD. It's a complete custom bike, serial #6 of the 6 made. I'll try and give you the details when I find them out... and a pic when he gets it.

And I am so happy that you are not seriously injured.

Sorry to ask this and act like such a mum, but I hope you were wearing a helmet? I'm glad to hear you aren't badly injured though, but I could say different about the bike! Have you sent it in for repairs yet? How many days/weeks until you get it back? You must be itching to get back on it!

Yikes!!! Glad your alright. Now can I say...I am SOOOOOOOOO JEALOUS!!! BEAUTIFUL BIKES!!! I cannot ride to save my life always on the back. you will get this since you ride..some of you may not...but 'I'm the Bi*** that fell off" oh well...thats what sissy bars are for..lol

Thanx everyone for the compliments on the bikes, and Crossfire, I too hope the weather holds out so I can ride when it gets fixed.

No, I wasn't wearing a helmet (waits for the many lectures)......

Swiftwind,.....I'll take it in on Monday for the repairs, and I'm not sure how long it will be in the shop. Everything that was damaged/broken has to be ordered. I'm glad I didn't already have the accessories on it before dumping it. We had planned to ride all weekend (taking advantage of the nice weather) and then take them back for the "add-ons" next week. Mine will just have a "total body makeover"!! LOL

Its funny, when Greg came back to me and asked if I was ok, I said, "I'm fine, how's the bike and can I ride it home?" LOL

Wow, glad you are ok. Shame about the bike, but that'll fix. Harleys are aweomse, and what a nice pair you have.

And yes, here comes the first lecture.......wear that darn helmet next time!!! You already know what the consequences could be from not doing so (or you wouldn't have expected the lectures). Use that noggin, and not as a ball bouncing across the road! Be safe, and hope the weather holds out so you can get back out for a ride!
