Dog toys.

So... here we go.

Hippo has become a voracious chewer- but only of appropriate things so far (thank goodness!). Normal red kongs are decimated- we've gone through about a dozen. Black kongs take a bit more work- we've gone through four. She leaves shreds of rubber all over. She liked the Premier toys- busy buddy and such- until she figured out she could just chew them apart and eat the tastiness.

She has very little interest in Nylabones. Pressed rawhides work well- but she zips through them too quickly and I don't like her eating an entire 8 inch pressed rawhide in less than a few hours time. Bully sticks disappear too quickly- same with pigs ears and cows ears.

She gets cross cut femur bones (raw) but loses interest once the good stuff is chewed off.

She is crated during the day when I'm not home, simply because she's not quite trustworthy. I hate leaving her without something to occupy herself. Does anyone have any suggestions on heavy-duty chewer toys? What about those blue Orca toys made by Pet Stages?

I have heard people have great luck with the toys designed for horses. There is one shaped like a tire that is supposed to be indestructible for major chewers.

Are the shank bones you are fedding raw or smoked? I would go for rawbones- those dried smoked bones can splinter esp with a really tough chewer. Large raw beef knuckly bones would be my suggestion but I have no idea if that's safe unsupervised with a dog that is that strong.
I'd PM Elegy and ask her. Her dogs can shred a black kong no prob but I can't remember what toys she says have held up. I'm pretty sure one of them is the Orbee balls.
Sometimes the fun is in the destruction (eviscerating/ dissecting prey is an instinctive behavior that some dogs have more than others) which is why some don't really love things like nylabones that are hard to wreck. You could embrace the destructiveness and do things like stuff a black kong, put it in knotted old sweat socks or sew it into an old stuffy. Some people buy stuffies from the dollar store and put sometting smelly inside , sew it back up and let the dog have at it.

Only raw bones for the pooches here, no worries.

I certainly don't mind the shredding of toys- that's what toys are for! However, I prefer to supervise the shredding to be able to discourage the ingestion of shredded bits. I've seen chunks of Kong come out the other side, so she does eat some of it.

So really, I guess my question is more of the "what's non-shreddable so she can have it unattended" variety.
