Waiting for my god-son to be born!!!

Ok, I'm sorry, but I'm excited. My good friend Mandi(my nickname for her since High School) is 37 weeks pregnant and a single parent. She asked me several months ago to be her son's god mother. Anthony Thomas V. (ha ha, get it, ATV? the 4 Wheeler?) is due any day. Mandi went to the DR's last night, she's 1 cm dialated and is just waiting for her water to break! She hasn't taken her birthing classes yet (I know, I "yelled" at her to do it), so I told her to find one for this week and I would go with her as I will probably be the only one in the room with her. She's actually in very good spirits. She's not grouchy or uncomfortable, she just wants to hold her baby boy! I'm starting to get anxious. Last night I told her to call me after her appt., and when 11 rolled around, I got worried. My boyfriend, Matt, told me that she probably fell asleep or forgot to call me..but I didn't believe him. I promptly called the Hospital after calling her 5 times, and they said she wasn't there. I called her one more time after I called the Hospital, and she answered and laughed at me for calling the Hospital.

Sorry, I'm just REALLY excited!!

Update on Mandi -

Spoke with her last night, she's having contractions, and they are getting stronger. She said it just happened for about an hour or so last night. I told her to call me if she thought they were getting closer and she needed me to get to her, as I work an hour away from where she lives and the hospital is about 20 minutes from her house. She's really excited now, like it's all a dream come true. I told her that I would be checking in on her through the day, and she said that was fine.

Thanks everyone, I am just trying to help out a great friend of mine, she needs all the help she can get.

Ok, Update from Last Night;

Mandi's having contractions like every 15 minutes. Her doctor told her when she had them ever 5 minutes for an Hour then to come into the hospital or if her water breaks. When I origionally called her, she wasn't having any, when I asked when she last had one, she was like "Thanks Meg, I'm having one now!"

I love this! I'm living my pregnancy through her!! I don't have to get pregnant to experience it, she's doing a great job on her own!

No baby yet!! Ugh, I hope she has him soon, she is now 38 weeks..and I've lost soo much sleep. I'm scared if I fall asleep, I won't hear the phone ring when she calls to tell me that she's going into labor. I'm a REALLY deep sleeper, so it is possible.

Congrats! My friend just had her baby boy almost a month ago (1 month on the 8th). Its very exciting! I was at the hospital for 10 hours!!
