I thought we already covered this several times...the colour is due to the pigment in the eye/tapetum. At least that's what everything I've read says.

Yes, the pigment gives the main "glow" color, but the amount of light (due to the pupil size), the angle it enters, can change its glow color from one eye to the next.

I wouldn't say it's totally false, my boy Luegi has PRA and his eyes typically glow green in bright light. I wouldn't lable it as true either though. lol I think that no matter what, it's going to depend on several things such as pigment, size of the pupil, lighting and angle.

Harley's eyes glow green, and Abby's eyes glow yellow/red.

I found out today from my stepdad (he used to be an optometrist and still works in the eye healthcare industry) that if a dog's eyes glow green it means that they have cateracts. If a dog's eyes glow red/yellow it means their eyes are normal.

I thought that was quite interesting!

No problem! My stepdad also confirmed that the different colours in pets' eyes is due to the tapetum lucidum, like Cass mentioned. I thought I'd just say that eyes that glow green meens cateracts in dogs ONLY (ie, not cats, whose eyes apparently all glow green).

My Zada's glow green but she has not cateracts. Azraels glow pink and she doesn't have cateracts either. This is getting very, very interesting now.
