What a good boy!

Well, Dakota had his very first experience in a school environment. I was asked to bring him to the elementary school for a lesson on animals..
He did sooo well! I never expected him to get along and behave so well with everyone. He didn't try to herd any of the kids, he played games with them, and was fed some of the kids' "food". (Twizzlers, a crushed candy cane, a ginger-bread man.. )
He was a huge hit, so much that they asked me to come back with him in 2 weeks.
Here's a picture of a few of the kids with him.. As you can see he's loving every minute of it, LOL.

And, it really has nothing to do with his day with the kids, but THIS is what that sweet little pup turns into on occasion. (Yes it is a rare occasion, but it does happen. lol.)

Oh my goodness. That picture on the bottom is something else. LOL. What's he saying?

I think that's great that he got that socialization with the kids. He was a good boy indeed. Just to show how breed discrimination goes, I asked the local school if I could bring my pup in when he was only about 3 or 4 months and they said that it was too much of a liability. That was a teacher who knew me and knew I had a Doberman puppy. I really wish he had had more earlier experiences with kids. There are so few around me.

So, that is good that Dakota is getting plenty of that. He was a good boy wasn't he!

Aww, how sweet! the bottom pic...Tippy does that. Well, she likes to mouth. She's very mouthy....in fact, she enjoys stuffing fists into her mouth, and whenever she gets a treat, the fingers go into the mouth too!

Dakota's such a pretty boy ....

Thanks..
Carrie, somebody came up behind me and was watching us while I was trying to get a cute picture of him. He was letting them know that it's rude to lurk in doorways.
That's too bad that they wouldn't let you bring Lyric. Like a 3 month old pup would be dangerous.
I wish I had socialized Ripley with kids more when he was younger, but I was too worried about kids at the school hurting him (he only weighed a couple of pounds then) and although I had kids around me, they were the kind that would rather torture a little dog than make friends with it, so I just left it alone.. Wish I could change that now, so I wouldn't have to crate him when kids come over.
Poor Ripley has to pay for my inexperience, but I at least hope that I've learned enough from my mistakes with him to be able to work better with Dakota.
