Nail Polish

Does anyone know how to get nail polish out of carpeting? My 2 year old just dumped a bottle of nail polish on our tan carpet and I am freaking out as to how to remove it w/out damaging the carpet. Any ideas????

Got this from ehow.com....

Steps:
1. Pour dry cleaning fluid over the stain.

2. Blot with a dry, white cloth.

3. Apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent to the stain.

4. Blot again with the cloth.

5. Flood the stain with water.

6. Blot again with the cloth.

7. Pour a small amount of ammonia on the stain.

8. Blot again.

9. Apply a little more liquid detergent to the stain.

10. Blot again.

11. Flood the area with water.

12. Blot one last time.

Tips:
Dry cleaning fluid can be purchased at a home supply store or a dry cleaners.

Always test the cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area of the carpet before applying them to a large area.

Use a white cloth rather than a colored one to prevent any dyes from coming off on the carpet.

As you blot, keep turning the cloth so that you are using a clean, dry section to pick up the stain and the cleaning fluids from the carpet. Don't rub.

If using a brush to help clean the stain, always brush from the outer edges of the spill inward to prevent the stain from spreading.

Warnings:
Do not use nail-polish remover as it may bleach the carpet.

Thanks Gaddy. I will have to look for the dry cleaning stuff. I may even still have some around here. I'm just glad it was clear nail polish. But, I am still working on getting the glue off of Fiona's head from yesterday that my son got on her, and now today it's nail polish. ARGH!!!!!

LOL, you're welcome . My nephew is named Gabriel....we joke he should've be named Lucipher.... . He enjoys climbing shelves (especially to get at potted plants and chalk), trying to draw on the floor, and pouring salt all over. Heheh.

There are times I would love to sell my son on eBay. LOL The little stinker just managed somehow to do something to the other computer that made it not turn off, and I have no clue how to undo it.

Tried the power button, but it won't shut off the screen. Tried the power button on the screen too, and that didn't work either. I am about ready to go nuts because of my little stinker!!!

Yeah, thanks. I had to put the little monster down for a nap, so that's why it took me a while to try it out.
