ACD/Pit Bull
|
Well. Todday I was out of school. We are doing a job shadow. So I chose to Shadow my grandpa. (Mainly so I could go check on all the dogs down the road.) Here is what I found, First..I went and made sure all of the 4 puppies were still alive. They were still there. They didnt look scrawny, but still didnt have the right living conditions. Next, I went and looked at the pits (from a distance. I still think the fight them. And Yes, there were 4 beautiful brintle pits tied up and in a fence. The did have dog-houses. Then I was walking just to see what else was there since the last time. Well first I came across a huskyXpit bull. He was really scared. But he did belong to someone. He was howling at me. So I kept going. Then the next one was the saddest to me..There was a REALLY pretty Pit Bull back there. He looked just LIKE Spot! He had a DOG KENNEL for his shelter. (TYhe kind that you take your dog to travel in. And he was on a tie up rope tied to a tree. He could only go maybe 2-3 feet from the tree. (I would do anything to have that dog.) I learned his name was Domino. Walking on, I came up too 2 SKINNY Great DanesXLabs (Maybe.) They were sooo sweet. Both females. They followed me everywhere.I know they belonged to someone. I didnt know the person, but they did not have collars on. The last one I saw was a bworn and White mutt. she had had a litter of pups recently. I didnt see them. She was realy shy as well. But sweet after I finally got her to come up to me. Thats all I saw. BUT..a perosn came in my g-pa's work (which is a pawn shop) and was like we just got back from looking at puppies. I said "really what kind." She said well they had some black labs, GREY labs, GSD, Pits and others. I was like omg..I need to go look at this and see whats going on. I should have but I didnt. I had seen enough for that day. I know you guys are going to be like tell someone. But there is REALLY no one to tell. I dont know anyone around here who cares. |

You don't really need to tell anyone that you know personally. You just have to report it to what ever authority is closest to you. Even ones that are out of your area may be able to help. Perhaps even emailing one (if you can find a site) to check if there is anything you can do, that you didn't know about. I'd love to recommend someone but I'm not in the same country.
So I'm not familiar with what organisations you have there, apart from the SPCA. Grey labs? Goodness me, that's a real reality check that most people know nothing at all about dogs and dog breeds, isn't it? Oh and good for you, for having the heart to check on these dogs. There should be more people like you. Cass. |
