My squatty legged crew won't be getting that kind of air time though! lol They've gotten to play with the neighbor's spring pole a few times and really had a ball so we decided to build them one of their own. |

The very large tug ropes work well but most of the people I know make their own bottom for it ( where the dog grabs on ) by using one or two old basketballs layered in multiple layers of burlap or just roll several layers of burlap together.
It can't be alot of fun for the dog but it's REALLY important to start them off slow and lower to the ground until their muscles have time to build and they get used to the balance issues. Also very important that they've already learned to obey the command "release". Just letting them start off with a spring pole already set so that only their back feet can touch can and will cause serious injury to your dog. I'm excited, can't wait to see the look on their wrinkled little faces when they go out back and see their very own spring pole! ![]() |

Well it would work for Dracs as he's got good spring (we practice him with sticks he jumps over my husband 6'3) also he knows the "Drop it" command.
Zeus would need time. |

I've finished shopping for Cozy. She is getting some new small new tennis balls, a new Floppy Disc, an Air Kong (tennis ball fabric covered bone shaped toy), a liver scented soft nylabone, a hard nylabone, a tiger striped plush bone shaped toy, a squeeky plush snowman (thanks to Heartguard), a Spot Bites critter that chatters instead of squeeks (this will be her favorite thing!), freeze dried liver treats, dog cookies, and a terry cloth hooded bath robe. She's not too happy to get clothes.

LOL! I can't help it! My kids are grown and gone but it's just not Christmas without lots of prezzies under the tree. And it's so much fun to watch her open them and play with them. I've always made Christmas fun for my dogs. But remind the bullies it's not all about presents. It's about being loved.

Hmm... I'm sure the only thing on Duke's wish list is a house full of tennis balls and treats, but he'll hopefully be getting:A Herm Sprenger Fur Saver collar, a Blocky Dog collar, an HS metal martingale, another HS prong collar since his other one disappeared, 3 leather leashes (2 brown, 1 black), a Lupine martingale (2 if they have the Christmas pattern), a Lupine leash to match, another Spiffy Dog leash, a FidoFleece sweater and booties to match, lotsa tennis balls, an Air Kong, Bag Balm for his dry elbows, Paw Wax so he stops slipping all over the floors, a leather/nylon combo collar and leash, rolled leather collar, another hexagon link chain since that disappeared also, a Flexi, a Sporn halter, another 30' lead since he stinkified the other one, more tennis ball tugs, some Wellness treats, DentaGreens, and umm, probably even more than that. Looking at that list, I need to get shopping if I expect to get all of it by Christmas.
