decorating the tree

We put our three up last night finally. We are a bit behind this year but this has been a busy year. So we put it up last night and Kino didn’t mind it, though it’s a fake tree. I myself don’t like fake trees, I had real ones my whole life, but since I’m not living at my parents anymore I juts go with the flow here with my in-laws, and they do fake trees.

So today I started decorating it. Kino kept trying to follow me behind it when I was putting the lights on it.

Then I got all the ornaments on it, I left the bottom a little thin because I know Kino will try and pull them off, he tried one, and got yelled at. So wish us luck on our first Christmas with Kino.

Next year well probably have stories to tell of him and the real tree, we should have our own house by then, and we can have a real tree again. (Ok we better have our own house by then since we made a deal with my MIL that we would have a house of our own before the wedding, and the wedding is Dec 30, 05 so we had better have our house by this time next year)

Zermatt really likes ornaments, too! He learned quickly that they are not for doggie mouths! This will be Godiva's first Christmas, so I am in the same boat with her!
Good luck on finding a house!

Well, I tried something new this year since two of my pups are experiencing the Christmas thing for the first time and my old cat Peaches LOVES to eat the tree. lol

Not sure if you all have seem them or not, it's a little machine that blows out a puff of steam when you step too close to it, the steam isn't really hot though, more like a mist and I thought this might be enough to scare Peaches away from the tree and help the pups to learn that inside trees aren't for playing or peeing on. lol

The result, a new play toy for the bullies, their thrilled with this new thing and spend the entire day sneaking up on it, watching it blow and then hopping back and forth. lol Great comedy but not exactly what I had in mind!

Fireworks ~ Hope you find the house of your dreams this coming year and I bet your already getting excited about the wedding! Poor Kino, yelled at already for trying to taste test. lol Give him a hug and a treat for me.

Crossfire, How funny! Things just don't turn out the way we want, huh?! I bet those pups are having a blast. But maybe that'll keep them occupied from munching on the tree goodies!

Fireworks, girl, I know you have your hands full. Good luck with Kino and the tree. My Boone would have everything pulled off and chomped on, if I put one up, but I'm not big on decorating much for holidays, so I don't get to deal with that! LOL And I've been meaning to ask how your wedding stuffs going.

Haha too funny crossfire!

Poor Kino, he was just trying to help! He probably thought it would look better on his bed and not the tree

This year and last year we didn't put a tree up. We've always had fake trees, and the reasons are for the dogs and cats. But since we've had Denali, we KNOW that she would eat the ornaments, chew on the tree, or knock it over. So we set the tree up outside as a display. We are planning on decorating some more when we get money. I love to decorate for the holidays..

Good luck in finding your dream home Fireworks!

thanks everyone. We are waiting a bit to get the house due to money, but were looking (we could get a house now but it wouldnt be what we really want, so if we wait a few months we can get a loan for a LOT more and thus the house of our dreams). Wedding plans are comming slowly.

Kino and I just went christmas shopping for the dogs, I took him since he learned quickly not to touch the tree. We first went to Wags and Wiskers, a little animal shop that doesnt sell animals at all. He had a blast, then we went to PetCo. Though it is a little cold outside to keep the window rolled down like Kino likes.

Good luck Fireworks with the tree.
I've got a Santa present patrol that my sister bought me a couple of years ago. From Christmas around the world. If my Mom had had this thing I would have been busted. ROFL. It makes a noise like a sirene when you get close to it.
Well, Mia got to experience it for the first time Saturday night. After it went off the first time she has steered clear of the tree. LOL And fireworks, I started putting a artificial tree up a few years ago. But, never really liked them. So, I decided this year it was time to go back to the real thing. I bought a Balsam Like I use to. Nothing like having a real tree in the house. I love the smell.
