Question Would you/have you?

Today I had to go with my best friend Sammy to pick out my bridesmaid dress, she's getting married in July to another friend of mine (who I've known since highschool), Billy. YAY!!

Anyhoo, I'm not currently seeing anyone, so the whole marriage thing hasn't crossed my mind at all. But today I got thinking, and sure, down the road it's a possibility, but Sam and I got chatting and just being plain old goofy, and she asked who I would want in my wedding party. (If I were arranging it now).

So I rambled off the people I would want to be in the wedding, with of course my nephew and "niece" as the wee ones, but I'd also want my dogs in the wedding! REALLY!! Sam said she would totally expect that my "kids" would be part of my wedding, and completely understood. Which surprised me and was awesome, because I honestly thought she'd look at me like I was nuts! haha

Sooo.......my question is, would you guys have your dogs in your wedding? And those of you who are married and had dogs at the time, were they a part of it?

River will certainly be part of any wedding I have - for two reasons - mainly because he is a HUGE part of my life and secondly because I think he'd look REALLY spunky in a tux LOL!!!

And we'd even have the reception at a park somewhere in a fenced in area so he could attend that as well and we wouldn't have to worry about him wondering off!!

I really don't think having your dogs as part of your wedding is all that uncommon anymore - I often see people in the paper with dogs in their photos - I think it's great!

I never, ever......ever, want to get married. Never. No way, no how.
However, I wanted to say that I don't think it's weird at all wanting your dogs to be a part of the wedding. They are often surrogate kids anyway and we all know how important they are in our lives, so it makes sense that someone would want them to be a part of their wedding day.

Cass.

I personally don't want to get married, and will never see myself getting married.

But if I did, I would have my entire pack there! lol, they can all be the ring bearers..and of course Lucy would be my bridesmaid.

I'm getting married in September. We're having a pretty small wedding party- just my best friend and Joe's best friend. Joe's friend Tom is walking Saboo up the aisle, and Kate will be walking Hippo up the aisle.

LOL, I hear ya Cass! I'm not sure I'd ever want to get married either, this is just a "what if".

I've lived alone (besides renting my basement) for the past 3 years, and I'm a bit set in my ways now. It would have to be someone truly special for me to even live with a significant other now...LOL....much less commit to a lifetime with this person.

When and *IF* I ever get Married, my dogs would certainly be a part of it. I'm still young, so I don't know what the future holds. It's a possibility !

Well
when I got married, i haven't had all the dogs i had now, not even Kessy, she came after our marriage, but my Best companion, i had since then had to be in it.
Herkules, my true friend as long as i had him , we went through a lot together.
And we had my husbands horse that time, too.
so i decided to have them in the Wedding.
We came out of curch and i had the horses ready there for us to ride. friends of ours got them all dressed up for us!
We had a @ km ride to hour Party lokation, located in our sweet valley!

So yeah, my "furkids have to be with me. and trust me if i had my Kessy back than she would have been in it, too.
Not many people understodd, my mom didn't some did, and my cousin said, she would have done the same if she had horses when she got married.

I did! so yeah! if you ever.... Go for it!!!

I second that, Never ever again for me. Ive been married and am now divorced.
I do however agree that it would be cool to have the fur kids in the wedding.

When/if I get married (still a long ways off in the future, as I'm still in highschool), I would probably have some of my critters in the wedding. I don't know what animals I have at that time, but as I want a Mastiff in my future, it would look pretty spiffy in a tux.

When we got married last July, I wanted Radar to be involved, but since we got married in the courthouse it wasnt an option. But, I hope to have him involved in the renewing of our vows.

Oh that's a shame he couldn't be a part of the wedding. I hope you do get to involve him in the renewing ceremony. If you do, don't forget to post some pictures for us to see.
