Well like everyone had said
Things happen for a reason.
We were contacted yesterday by a woman with an 11 month old yellow Lab who had surgery for entropion 4 months ago. The woman is a breeder out here in the central valley. She kept this little girl because she was gong to breed her and then she developed entropion so she had the surgery done and decided to place her in a pet home. We spoke with her last night and are meeting with this little girl today along with our boys to see if they all get along. Her breeder said she has some scaring from the surgery and he eyes are more droopy then the average Lab...we don't care. We are just looking for the right personality fit into our pack. Edited to add a picture of her: ![]() We will let you know how it goes tonight when we get home. |

When we got three she was in the back yard with her mother and father. They are all three covered in fleas and so filthy that when you so much as touch them your fingers all turn black.
She told me that her vet had told her that the stiches were dissolvable so SHE LEFT FOR VACATION leaving a dog who had just had surgery out in the back yard for a WEEK! Needless to say she got back and the poor girls stiches were still in as they were not dissolvable. So she tookthem out herself. She said the vet who did it might be willing to retape them or something like that if I want. First of all I do not love a dog because it is beautiful to look at...second OMG give me that dog! I even tried to get the mother and father as well but she would not give them up. She did however get the mother spayed. Because she didnt want to risk having another litter out of this Dam and have them get this too.Any way, this dog whom she told me was untrainable and had NEVER in 11 months stepped one foot inside the house is currently laying beside me. We are at my Aunts house an hour and a half from my house because she had a plumbing emergency. While we have been here Izzy (formerly Helen, as in Helen Keller...no lie) has not had a single accident, infact she whinned at me when she had to pee! It took me about an hour to get hre to sit on command and another 30 min to walk nicely on the leash for me. UNTRAINABLE! She is unleased in my Aunts home with out any problems what so ever. Oh and Izzy is a good 15 lbs over wieght so she is going on a diet, poor baby. We gave her a frozen Kong with peanut butter in it for the car ride up here and she was so happy I thought she might die! Just imagine what she is going to think when she gets to sleep in a nice warm betd tonight in a warm home, and cuddle up with us on the couch to watch TV. We stopped and got flea meds for her on the way to my aunts as well and bathed her when we got her here....it was B A D but she took it all in stride. She has the most even temperament, so sweet, so loving and SO SO willing to please. |

Always room for one more

I thought this was the breeder that had done all the health testing and certifications and everything?!?! Unbelievable... So how will you manage her fleas with your other dogs? Will you document her condition so you can report the "breeder"?
Glad she's safe with you now. Thank God you got her out of there and she'll have a good life now! |
