Any one else rollerblade with their dog/s?

My husband and I just purchased some roller blades so we can haul arse with them instead of just the leisurely walk....Last night my DH tried it out with Izzy. at first he went really slow and she was like "WHAT?". but with in about 5 min she was off and running! She was like an energizer bunny, she just kept going and going and going....

Not here...I'd hate to see the road rash I'd get being pulled by dogs running 40 mph! LOL

Oh I'd love to, but I'm quite sure they'd have both me and them killed! It's far to busy around here traffic wise to do so, at least anywhere close where I could rollerblade on a smooth surface without going down the street looking like a bobble head. LOL

I would love to, either that or bike ride, but I'd have the same problem as britishbandit. If I didn't have to worry about cars- I'd give it a go

We have a huge park that is surrounded by cemented side walks. It is the prefect place for this.

Sounds great. Will you be posting some pictures of Izzy & the rollerblading?

He loves it Kennelmom he actully gets to open up some then lol. Im also a very advanced roller blader. (played roller hockey for years) i would start out in a place where the dog cant run if you fall though lol. And never two at a time till you feel comfortable with one lol. BUt its a great workout for you and your dogs.

I had problems about a year ago jogging with Baxter. Normally he's very good, stays at my tempo on my left side. Then all of a sudden he darted in front of me. I almost regained my balance before I smacked the sidewalk. As I was laying there, he came over to me, gave me a sloppy kiss and sat on top of me The next day I was covered in bruises but luckily didn't break anything. I can't imaging what would happen if I tried roller blading

I have a park nearby that has a HUGE arena parking lot (will have to check if it isn't full of pot holes and is a good surface). Maybe one day (not mid winter mind you..LOL) I will head there. I've never really noticed, but I can't imagine the arena parking lot is all that busy in the summer...haha. So maybe we will try out rollerblading.

No, just ice hockey, and I definately wouldn't be on ice skates near my dogs, they'd likely loose a paw!

I do!

I take Sheiba and Denali both on the skates. I haven't lately though, mostly because I have been so busy. But when I do, they LOVE it. Everyone gets a kick out of it. They say "Having the dogs do all the work?" But it's something they were bred to do, so they enjoy every minute of it. Sheiba is the only one who really knows commands. We start off really fast, and towards a particular part of the neighborhood, I tell her "Sheiba steady" and she'll slow down to a trot. Denali follows her pace and direction, but not from me. So we turn around and trot back. We get back on the longer stretch and I tell them "Let's go! HIKE" And we're off again. Hehehe.

I have fallen only once, and that was because one of the little kids had their dog out in the middle of the street. They started to walk towards me, and since the dog was so close "On-by" didn't mean a thing to Sheiba or Denali. They went sideways, and I let go of the leashes, flew over the speedbump onto a driveway (which was a painted driveway thank god) and landed right on my butt. It was a hard fall, but I surprisingly got no scratches and wasn't sore. I always wear jeans when I go, JUST in case I do fall, I have a little bit of protection.
