I can relate to that! LOL Sarge will be tucked in a half circle wanting you to scratch his butt, and he's walking in circles, licking the air. Then I say "Bubby... wanna bath?" and he starts walking really fast and he'll jump up on me as if to say "Nooooo! Mommy pleeeeassseee! Whatever I did, I'm sorry! Nooo!" Then if I get up and walk to the bathroom, he hangs his head and runs. If I pick a towel up and a bottle of shampoo, and walk by him, he'll run back into my dads room LOL He can't stand it, but he deals with it while he's in the tub.

Sheiba and Denali tolerate it. Denali cannot stand having the water for any farther than her body. If it gets on her neck or face, she freaks out and will shake while she has soap all over her, and I'm trying to rinse it off.

Redhotdobe: LOL Denali did that to me once. She went to the back door like she usually does when she has to go potty. I just got done drying her off, and so I let her out. I watch her go, and then she takes off to the other side of the yard and rolls in the dirt! Their "area" is all dirt... they go over there so much there's no grass or plants. What a brat

Dakota loves baths.. Which is a good thing for me, because he loves to roll around in the dirt and turn his lovely white legs, ruff and tail tip into a dingy tan color. I guess part of the reason he likes his baths so much is because he gets his raw bones in the bathtub (easier cleanup and sterlization for me) and he's usually so busy looking for his bone in there that he doesn't seem to notice the warm spray of water on him. lol.

Ripley tolerates baths, if you can catch him first to put him in the kitchen sink. He throws an absolute fit about it, and threatens to run away from home (rofl) until he is caught and sprayed down. Then he waits it out with the hope that he will be blow dried. (He adores the blow drier, it puts him to sleep)

Lucky! I wish my Tippy Baby were better about baths....no matter how many treats I have, no matter how delicious they are, she HATES baths. She will come into the bathroom cautiously and I can get her to come over to the bath tub, but she's very careful....she watches me.....she suspects I'm going to grab her and drop her in the tub, LOL! I actually got her to come over the tub when there was water in it......I'm doing some training with her hoping it'll help her to realize baths ain't that bad. I take showers once every 1-2 days, she only gets 'em once a month....only 12 baths a year (this is if she doesn't roll in mud or chase after a rabbit in the rain and come back with a mixture of mud, poop, and grass covering her fuzzy body).

My dogs get bathed a lot, so they learn to tolerate it.. If there is anything I can't stand, it's a fluffy dog that has limp hair. Ripley hasn't been bathed in over a month, he hasn't needed a bath.. He's stayed out of the dirt and his coat is in great shape, not oily or stringy at all, so he gets to avoid it. Dakota the little dirt-magnet however, gets bathed once every 2 weeks or so.
Compare this to my daily showers (sometimes twice daily, depending on how dusty it is outside) and a bath every 2 weeks is nothing! LOL.

Bailey doesn't seem to care about bath time. I can run the water and she will jump up on the edge of the tub and watch it fill. When I put her in she just stands there and lets me wash and condition her. She does not want me to get the sprayer near her head though. I usually just run my wet hand over her face a lot to clean it or I use alcohol free baby wipes. I think she really likes the warm water...dachshunds love to be warm! Perhaps she thinks of the bathtub as her own personal hot tub/spa? Lucy has had one bath in the sink so far and I got more wet and soapy than she did. She was all squirmy and wiggly and hard to hold onto...I don't think she enjoyed it much and from the way she smelled when I brought her home I am positive it was her first bath ever. She will have to get used to it. Maybe I'll try to put her in the tub with Bailey and see how that goes.

Haha, Sarge loves to get blow dried. We only blow dry them when it's cold out... he sits there and falls asleep

Let's see...Zoe likes the baths, she loves getting scrubbed and will jump in as soon as I start running the water. She also loves getting rubbed dry with the towel.

Willy and Pudge on the other hand would be quite happy if they never saw another bath again in their lives. Although they enjoy being rubbed dry with the towel also.

Does anyone else's dog run through the house like crazy after they are dried off after they get out of the bath? All of mine run like crazy like they haven't had any excercise in days! It's the funniest thing in the world!

Boone doesn't mind it so much. I praise him the whole time and give treats if he's especially good. He does try to lick up the soapy water from the sink though. He's a little lush for anything wet! LOL He does hate being toweling off. And I've never been brave enough to try to blow dry him. I was planning on giving him a bath in the next day or two for Christmas parties, so I may try my luck at blow drying him out.

I only bathe Fiona if I REALLY have to, ie she rolled in something she shouldn't. While she doesn't hate the shower, she hates getting in and it's a struggle to get her 90+ pound body in there w/out getting hurt myself. LOL

Chulita, my smallest Chihuahua is the only dog I've ever had that actually seems to enjoy the warm water and that kind of attention.

Jose doesn't seem to mind it too much, but does look a little uneasy.

Lyric shakes, quivers, whites of his eyes showing and looks like he's on the verge of a scizoid, anxiety attack, like he thinks he's going to be murdered. :shiver:

And Bonnie, my Lab, as much as she loves water, will go swimming in any body of water outside any chance she gets, doesn't like a bath, but behaves and deals with it. She is one dog who knows when she's going to have a bath practically at the same time as I begin to think about giving her a bath. :shiver:

Rose tolorates the baths. She'll get into the tub, but when I start the shower she stands there like, "Why me? Why me?" lol

Blackie likes baths but he doesn't like showers a whole bunch. Normally the only time he gets a bath or shower is when it is warm out because he clogges up the drain with all of his hair when we bathe him in the tub.

And both of our dogs, when they have their bathes outside, will run and go and find the most stinky dead animal ever and roll on it . When they have a bath inside, they just sit around.

So I guess you could say both of our dogs tolorate it, but Blackie is the worst when it comes to bathes. (Which is kinda funny because Blackie is water savvy and Rose could care less about water.)
