Bath Time!

Got up early today and decided it was time to give the Bullies their bath. Four hours later we were done, all ten of my little sourmugs all scrubbed, brushed, dremeled and polished.

The whole time I wondered, just how many dogs out there really DO like their bath and how many can't stand it. Mine all seem to like their bath time but then again, they've all been with me since the day they were born and had been used to getting the bath time "treatment" from a very early age on.

I'd like to hear from you, how well do your fur pals like their bath and what if anything do they hate about it? Any funny bath time stories? I can't wait to not only hear about it but also see the numbers on the poll!

Duncan likes a bath but Mollie prefers a shower which is odd as she is the one who will jump into any depth of water when we are walking

LOL I can just imagine Dracs packing up his favorite toy, a few new greenies and saying " I really mean it mom, if that water starts flowin' I'm outta here!"

LOL! It's funny because we will look at him and he'll be doing his Boxer wiggle and we'll say "Dracs, wanna bath?" and he'll tuck his tail stub and take off running..It is definately a show not to be missed...

Colby doesn't necessarily like baths, but she isn't bad about 'em. Of course, whenever the opportunity to jump out of the tub she try to. But mostly she stands there all upset.

Mayberry is good about baths. She stands there and stares at me like, "How could you DO this to me??? After all the love I've given you....I've shared my rawhides and squeaky toys...." If bathing outside I can usually keep her off-leash but sometimes she try to sneak off.

Tippy absolutely HATES baths! HATES! She's good if I'm bathing her outside and she's tied tight, then she just stands there, but inside she tries to climb on top of you and out of the tub. The last time I was bathing her was in a shower and the whole shower door came down on my toe . Luckily toe was not broken and Tippy was O.K.!

Duke is okay in the bath tub, except for last time when he refused to get in. Usually he'll jump in and stand there patiently, I guess he really didn't want to smell pretty for Thanksgiving. He got two outside baths in the summer and that had to be funny to walk by and see. I'd be hosing him off when he'd shake, and as soon as he got the chance he'd run. So by the time his bath is over, I'm soaking wet, smell like a combination of dog shampoo and wet dog, and I'm covered in dirt.

The funniest story would have to be when he completely ruined the whole purpose of a bath. He had just got done, I had toweled him off, and took him outside to potty. What's the first thing he did? Jump in the flowerbed.

Cozy's okay with a bath, but when I start the water in the sink, she tries to look invisible so I can't find her. She seems to like it once she's in there. She gets more of a shower at the groomer's and she doesn't care much for it. I guess she prefers baths to showers.

I really dont think that Kaida minds all that much.
Now if I said "Kaida want to get a bath?" (assuming that she understood).. she'd probably say "No" (assuming that she could talk).
But once she's in the tub (which isnt much of a struggle-that hard part is picking her lard but up) and the water is going... she's fine.
We have a detachable shower-head deal and she loves to try to eat the water from it! I have a hard time cleaning her neck area because she's just trying to gobble up the water!
