Grouchy "sleeper".

How many of your dogs are grouchy when they're sleepy?

Tysa and Maya are really good, they don't much care what's going on of if one of the other dogs nudges them or anything. But PJ, OMG, what grumpy bugger. LOL If he gets nudged or gets woken up by anyone or anything (not that I wake him up on purpose), he has to grumble about it (I don't mean aggressivly, but he grumbles...not sure how to explain it really).

He's also a big lap dog, and sometimes he'll fall asleep on me on the couch watching tv. If I get uncomfortable and move, he grumbles, if he has to get up to make himself more comfortable, more grumbles. He so friggin weird....LOL.

I guess he has always been a pretty vocal dog (besides barking, only does that on command or to "protect the house/car"). But he has all kinds of strange noises, happy growl (his Chewbaka impersonation), his grumbles, his real growls, his "girly" yelps...HAHA.

I guess I just find him a bit strange, and wondered if anyone else had a grouchy "sleeper"? Again, there is nothing aggressive about his grumbles, it's more of a "put out" grumble, not a growl.

LOL - I know what you mean BB - Brandi is a grumpy sleeper - my sister sometimes has to get up at 5:30am to go to work and Brandi will grumble at her until she turns the light off so she can go back to sleep!! She has even been known to paw at the alarm clock when it goes off I too thought she was a bit strange!

Oh man, Radar is very grouchy! If we have to move him in his sleep, or if we touch him, he'll let out a loud growl! He's such a grouchy butt!

Perhaps the origin of the saying "Let sleeping dogs lie!"?

And I fully agree with the saying! HAHA
But I don't have much control over if the other animals wake him up, or if I wake him when he's laying on me! I never purposely go up to him and wake him just for the heck of it.

Oh yeah...you know my lil' mexican is a grumpy sleeper. He could grumble for Australia and win a gold medal. Geez...I really do have to hunt down a mic so I can record it.

Cass.

Maggie my Boston Terrier is a grumpy sleeper as well. If you try to wake her up or move her she will let out a loud growl.

hmmm don't know... Well if they know we are going outside then yes, but if it is a morning where the alarm goes of early then they are not the fittest, Kessy even loves to come snuggle in the mornings...
My husband leaves often at 4:00 am and this is just about the right time, to move from the floor to the bed....

Both Abby and Harley are grumpy when they're sleepy, I don't know which one is worse! Abby will sometimes growl aggressively and try to snap at whatever touches her (usually Harley's foot, poor boy). She's always covered in a blanket when put to bed so doesn't know what's touched her. Harley gets grumpy if he thinks you're trying to move him (like if I'm trying to get a blanket which he's partially lying on).

None of my dogs that I have now are grouchy sleepers, but my great dane used to growl when she was sleeping. As she got older it sounded so fierce! LOL You could touch her and wake her up though and she would never do anything. Wonder what she was dreaming about?
