Lightbulb Breed Club Membership form Question ???

Ok, I need some help. I know this may sound like a very stupid question , but I just can-not figure this out.
I want to join a few Labrador breed clubs and All breed clubs. So the first one will be the Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Association. I down loaded their member form , read it through and found my self with a question.
On the form it states
Sponser #1
and Sponser #2
I'm confused .. Do I need a sponser ? and if I don't have one, can I leave it blank ?
and about volunteering, do I *Have* to mark any thing ? I would love to volunteer, but I won't be able to yet seeing I can't go very far since I don't have a car yet.
Is this so they know what your interested in helping with , incase you can volunteer ?

I guess it depends on the club how you would answer these. Some clubs won't let you join unless a current member sponsors you. Others are not as strict. Is there a phone number you can call?

When I was in the NSCA (National Shiba Club of America) I had to have two sponsors - people already in the club that would vouch for me, my good character, and my passion for the breed. (I'm no longer in it just now because heh heh forgot to pay membership dues). That's the National club though - so I don't if you *need* one to join local clubs. Is there a way you could go to one of the meetings and just sit in? Then afterwards discuss with some of the members what it takes to get a sponsor and join?

Ah I see. Well I'm not sure. I guess it depends on where the meeting is. Right now I can't but when I get a truck I'd be more then happy to.
But thanks. I know there is a number, but I wanted to see if any one else ran into this on a membership form for another club.
