Crapper, hit the wrong button!! It keeps getting worse. I was at a book store with my sister looking for min pin books and we found a book that was supposed to be all about the pure bred dog. Complete with facts, pictures, personalities..etc. However, we could not find a min Pin anywhere in the book. But we did find, Labradoodles, and Spoodles (cocker spaniel and miniature poodle). After looking through 3 more books, we found that they all had these dogs in them. And listed them as "purebred".

That is pathetic.
It takes about 10 seconds flat to take a photo of my dogs. And half that time is to switch on the camera. They probably dont even know who the father is. Christmas is a good time for these people. Last week I saw a "spanador".Lovely pup, A$980, what is in store for him is anybody's guess. There may be labrador there, but where the spaniel was I have no idea. More likely ridgeback. It said vet checked and wormed. Vet check is not much if you dont know parents history. I could do some violence to these people. |

I don;t mind purposeful mixing when the mix is for a good reason (profit is NOT a good reason) like when mixing the Siberian Husky with the Greyhound OR Pointer to get a dog that is faster and has more endurance for sledding but can still withstand cold temperatures, requires minimal food in comparison to other breeds the same weight, and has a strong drive to pull for long distances.
I'm even o with the Goldendoodle or Labradoodle when it's for a blind person who's allergic to massive amounts of dog hair since labs and retrievers are known to shed a lot. But when it's just to make money then it is a terrible thing and I shudder any time I hear someone say they paid 1G for a mix pup. That's just downright idiotic IMO.... Cheers! |

Not everyone will agree with me, but I think anyone who profits from breeding the dogs is not in it for the right reason.
I know number of breeders, diligent responsible people and consensus is this is a hobby and as such, done properly, costs money. I sometimes see breakup of costs of a litter and associated expenses and these people are out of pocket, sometime for thousands. |

Schnaps, I'm with you all the way! No dogs should be bred for profit. A breeder that is doing the job right will lose money, or, if they're lucky, break even.

GOSH these IDIOTS!!! "I've had lots of people inquire about his breed" YOUR STUPID "Schnoodle" is NOT a BREED, HE'S A SICK MIX YOU AS AN IDIOT BOUGHT FROM A PUPPY MILL!!! GRR! GRR! GRR!!I don't mind (extremely) if someone RESPONSIBLY mixes two breeds for a wonderful purpose....for a job. If they work as hard as possible to have it accepted as an actual breed, to keep it healthy and sweet....not for money AT ALL. It bugs the HECK out of me to see "Labradoodles," but especially "Chocolate Labradoodles" because Chocolate Labradors are obviously my favorite coat color for Labs is Chocolate (I've got a great Chocolate girl that I love to death). ![]() |

seems to me there are enough MIXED breed dogs being put to sleep in our shelters why breed more mixed breeds on purpose? People will do anything if they think they can make some $$$$$ outta the deal . A down right shame!!!

I am totally against this website, and the shmoes running it saying it is not a puppmill, wink , wink. However, comment on this thread make me laugh also..REMEMBER ALL OUR DOGS ARE NOT PUREBREEDS they started from somewhere..most german dogs have affenpincher in them for ex. the DOBEY has gone through SEVERAL moderations, mixes and concotions..remember there just a GSD or a BOXER from the beginning..they had to be developed..Most of our dogs as we know them today are only 200-300 years in the making..Shoot in 200 years people might hold labradoodle in high regard, I DOUBT IT, but it could happen. EVEN my lovely schnauzers have been developed..cross-bred to achieve its look of today. MY FINAL WORDS THOUGH..i do think the website is a joke and is hilarious, and a sorry attempt at a legitimate kennel. I myself don't like DESIGNER breeds, especially since my schnauzers are constantly used (because they are hypo-allergetica)...IM OUT!

Personally, I believe the problem is not with the breeders (no-one hit me just yet.. I'm making a point! LOL ), it's with the general public. The majority of people out there don't know the first thing about dogs, dog breeds or dogs in shelters, and it's their lust for anything new, cool & cute that inspires people to breed these dogs in order to profit from the selfishness. Getting info out there and educating people, whilst it may not satisfy us 'dog people' in the short term, could do wonders in the long term to help stamp out this horrid practice. Eh, but hey... that's just my opinion. Cass. |

Sorry for butting in here but Iīm new and just read this thread.
I have a mix that we found in a dog shelter. He is simply adorable! But I canīt say that I agree with mixing as they do it on that site. I personally think that if you want a mix, go look in the shelters. Thereīs more than enough to choose from there. |
