What do you like most about the area you live in?
So, I was just sitting here thinking. What do you like most about the area you live in?
Florida: For me, I love the beaches. I don't think I'd be able to live somewhere too far from the beach. If I did, I'd be sure to make a trip to the beach! I also love how we have such mild weather. So, what makes your area attractive? If you don't have somewhere you like, what place would you most like to visit because of it's features? |

Oklahoma is where I currently live but really its flat and boring.
I loved it when I lived in New Mexico. I was in total amazment cause at night you can see stars from left to right and everywhere in between. I never knew there were that many stars in the sky. I lived in St. Louis Mo before that so I was lucky to see one star at night with all the city lights. New Mexico is beautiful cause you can see as far as the eye could see. I could go on and on about how magical it is out there. I love it! btw great question to ask. |

I enjoy the hinterland areas of my state (New South Wales). Up north it's tropical and very pretty, down south they get more rain so the flora is more abundant. I don't like it out west because it's very flat, dry and industrial, though the Blue Mountains are very pretty up higher. I don't think there's much I like about the city I live in - it's very dirty, people can be very rude, and it's so money driven.

Boulder, CO - clear skies, mountains close by, high-level of education, x-Hippies, progressive, everyone (except me) fit. Everyone loves animals (especially dogs).
I've been here for a long time but ready to move though. If I stay in Colorado, I'd move closer to Denver. If I move and stay in the US, I'd move close to San Diego or Houston. |

I'm from a little section of southeastern Wisconsin called "Lake Country," which tells you what I like!
It's very green, very woodsy, and we love to fish. Missy LOVES to swim. She has a barrel chest and extremely strong front legs from so much swimming all of her life. (And she knows that one day she WILL catch one of those evil ducks. She will she will she will!!!) |

And Beryl: Boulder?! I LOVE Boulder!!! I lived in Cheyenne, WY when I was married (the evil decade), so I was only about 60 miles away. It's SO SO beautiful out there. I'd have stayed if I wouldn't have had to keep the husband.

Hmm, I do not care to much for Kooskia. It's toooo small but it's beautiful ! You can see wildlife and mountains with out leaving your front porch. People are friendly(most of the time lol) and the weather is about perfect(except for some of the cold blasts in the winter). Spring here is just gorgeous and SO full of life. I LOVE the river and the fact of this place being so Environmentally Friendly. I dislike the fact that most of the people look at dogs and see a disposable being.. Don't get me wrong though, there are a few people here that share the same love for animals , as we do and I love that part
All in all, Idaho is a great state. Beautiful and so full of color and life. I love all seasons here because each one has it's magical moments. Ok, I also LOVE Florida(well the Glades anyway).. I have so many wonderful memories that took place fishing around Florida's coats, the Hillsborough River and going to the many wonderful parks down there. I just love the wildlife that inhabits Fl.. Just a vast range of birds, Reptiles and Amphibians., Mammals and them ocean dwellers !Anyway, Fl. and Idaho have my heart and will always ! |

I love our weather and am not bothered by bugs or mosquitoes at all. I love being able to go on a camping trip, road trip, pic-nic or anything 8 months out of a year without worrying about rain. I love being close to the ocean and if I want to see snow, all I have to do is drive 35 miles from here. I love the Sequoia area with the tall redwoods and beautiful streams and walking trails and camp sites or cabins. I love that I can go either up to San Francisco and hang out with a son, or down to San Diego to hang with another son, and do either trip in 5 hours. I love how friendly people are here. I could go on and on and on, but what's NOT to love about CA.
The only other place I would consider living would be Spain. It's just like CA. only better.!! |

I know Cheyenne well since I spent a LOT of time in Greeley at UNC which is about midway between. I almost took a teaching job in Chugwater. |

I love that I live 15 min drive away from the beach, 15 min bus trip into the city for work and that there are about 10 dog parks all within about 15 minutes of home as well!! It's also a really quiet area - considering it's so close to town and I like the fact that most people around here really keep to themselves and don't go interfering in each other's business!!

Hmm yeah, there's not much to say about where I live, either... I can't even say it's quiet, we live under the flight path. Sometimes planes go over every 2 minutes. |

I live outside of D.C. The good is that we are close to everything! If we are bored we can go in to town to the Smithsonian Meausems. Dulles Airport is 15 min.s away. The mountains are a short drive (less than an hour) out the interstate. The bad is that it is so congested! Traffic is a 24/7 nightmare!
In two years or less we are going to get to move anywhere in the world that has high speed internet service so we are looking for a place to move. I'll be looking at this thread looking for ideas! |

I live in a beautiful spot. The town I live in is surrounded by gorges and waterfalls ( we have the largest falls in NY ( steeper than Niagara falls). Plus we have Cornell campus, so with the professor population and the students, Ithaca is very diverse and a very intelligent little town. Everyone here is very "green", concerned about the environment, civil rights, human rights..ect..Everyone has a cause they believe in and will go the mile to defend their beliefs. Noone cares about anyone elses opinions or lifestyle...It's a fabulous place to live.
