My dog chewed up my knitting needles!

I know it sounds horrible, but hubbie called me to tell me Bobbie, the almost 1 year old puppy, somehow removed my circular knitting needles from the sweater I was working on and bit the cord in 1/2. She also dented the needles (metal).

she didn't get hurt, no cuts in her mouth, didn't swallow anything (thank goodness!)...but!
She somehow:
  1. got into my bag,
  2. removed the rubber band I had around the tips to hold the stitches on (the rubber band is in 1 piece, unchewed)
  3. carefully pulled the needles out of the Final Round of the sweater (just before the sleeves are knitted and attached)
  4. and chewed my needles. My 34" size #8 needles that were imported from Germany and cost me $16+! LOL
I don't know if I should feel pissed with her or amazed/awed she was so careful in getting them out!

only a few rounds had some loose stitches and I can easily fix those when I get a replacement set of needles and with my trusty crochet hook

LOL - it's amazing how a dog manages to problem solve when they think there's something in it for them!!

I'm glad he didn't hurt himself as well.

It never ceases to amaze me how much they act like little kids. Glad she's ok, but I'd probably be angry at having a nice knitting needle ruined too. Gotta loveum though. They are our kids.

I think Bobbie was just trying to help you knit that sweater.

LOL

My girl Dancer once chewed up my husband's 700$ pair of glasses. You'd think he'd learn to put stuff away after that, but nope.... LOL

Pets are so smart when they want to be! My cat is known for digging in women's purses. He's pulled things out of mine and we've caught him in friend's purses. All you see is a tail sticking up or you find something missing, which later turns up on the floor of another room.

I'm glad your dogs are ok! Sorry about the needles. They were expensive.

I know the feeling though. Yesterday, I found an eyeglasses lens in one crate. I then found the remains of my frames with one lens outside of the crate. They are all chewed up and cannot be salvaged.
