I learned something new today...
...NEVER where your hair down, or in a long pony tail when you're using the dremel to cut a dogs nails.
ROFL! I got my hair caught in the dremel at work yesterday. Talk about scaring the ba-jeebies out of yourself! Thankfully we didn't have to cut it. I couldn't pull it off, but the girl took the head off of the dremel and I was able to slide it off. I had a nice little dreadlock going on. Ugh... Just thought I would share HAHAHA |

I always worry about that when I'm using mine. But you have to watch out for dogs that have long hair on their tails too...Jesse knows all about that.
Poor boy...I'm surprised (and proud) that he's not scared of it now. Cass. |

Yikes!
For those who use them on dogs who have longer fur a way to help when using a dremel on them is to take a piece of nylon from knee-hi's, etc & put it on the dog's paw, pushing their nails through the nylon. The nylon will hold the hair back away from the nail. |

I definetly know about the dogs with longer fur. It happened once when I was doing a chi's nails. I felt so bad. She still let me finish them though. She was a good girl. Ever since then, I always make sure that I pull the hair back.
I wore my hair down, and had it in a pony tail. I'm not used to wearing my hair down... I almost always have it up, whether I'm at work or not. So I wasn't thinking anything of it, when I put my head down and my hair fell right onto the dremel. Talk about looking like a blonde. LOL I tried to get the dreadlock out this morning, and it wasn't going anywhere, so I did have to cut it, BUT.. I need my hair cut anyways. LOL It wasn't a huge piece anyhow. trainingrixie: I guess now I can reccommend that to people if they ask how to do dreads... "Just put your hair onto a dremel while it's running. It works GREATTTT!" |
